Resume Examples and Guide For

Full Stack Developer

Sections

A full stack developer resume has to prove one thing that a specialist's does not: you can carry a feature from the browser to the database and back, and keep it running. The full stack developer resume examples below come from people who did that on real products, plus what 36,776 job postings and a set of interview-stage resumes say about the ones that got a callback.

Behind this page sit 868 full stack developer resumes tracked in Huntr's system. The four verified examples come from resumes that reached interviews, rebuilt as anonymized composites and checked by Sam Wright, Huntr's Head of Career Strategy, as part of our research. Every name, employer, and school is changed so no example is a real person, and the labeled stack-specific models below are built from what real full stack developer postings ask for.

What Full Stack Developer Resumes That Reached Interviews Shared

We looked at 35 resumes from 16 people who reached full stack developer interviews on Huntr, and cross-checked them against 36,776 full stack postings. The figures in this section come from those two sets.

  • One developer here moved from Clinical Research Coordinator into full stack work. Another taught as a Lecturer before going back to the keyboard, and a third ran QA and R&D before shipping product code. Full stack careers often start next to the code, not in it.
  • 91% of these interview-stage resumes open with a summary. It is where a full stack candidate names the stack and the thing they shipped end to end, before anyone scrolls.
  • The median resume runs under a page and 97% stay at two pages or under. The median is three work entries, so most of these developers show a short, dense track record rather than a long one.
  • The skills section is packed but pointed: a median of 23 skills. By person, React, Node.js, and Python each appear on all 16 resumes, with Next.js and PostgreSQL close behind. Those are the front, the back, and the glue of a full stack app.
  • Postings tell a wider story. JavaScript shows up in 50% of the 36,776 postings and React in 41%, but Java (40%) and Angular (33%) appear more than the resume trend suggests. Match the stack in the job description, not the stack on your timeline.
  • Git is in 26% of postings, and a GitHub link sits on 12 of the 16 resumes. For this role a public repo is close to standard, which is not true for most other jobs on this site.
  • Certifications do not decide these interviews. No single cert repeats. Where they appear at all they are front-end or cloud credentials, or a hackathon win, not a required badge.

Why it works: This resume reads like someone who owns services in production, not someone who writes tickets. The summary states the stack and the uptime, and every role adds a system that shipped and stayed up. See the methodology for how these are built.

The summary: Three lines that name the stack (C#, .NET Core, React, Node.js), the years, and one hard number: a 30-plus microservices backend at 99.95% uptime. No adjective pile.

The experience: The bullets carry systems and results: deploy times cut 80% with Docker and GitHub Actions, document collection dropped from 30 to 60 minutes down to about 10 seconds, a shared DTO library that unified 7 services, and 20-plus on-call playbooks. Ownership, in numbers.

The skills: A full stack spread on purpose: C#, .NET, React, Angular, Vue, Node.js on the front and middle; SQL Server, PostgreSQL, Redis on the data layer; Docker, AWS, and CI/CD to run it. The GitHub line is present because for this role it is expected.

Why it works: The engineer title comes with a computer-science spine. This resume leads with an algorithm rewrite that halved query time, then proves range across five roles and a wide stack without turning into a keyword dump.

The summary: One line of scope (scalable websites and APIs across front and back) and one hard result: a database query rewrite that cut times 50%. Then the CS fundamentals, stated plainly.

The experience: Breadth with receipts: complex features in Laravel, Vue.js, Redis, and RabbitMQ that lifted engagement 15%, cross-platform mobile apps for three ERP clients, bug resolution time down 35%, and 70-plus sites launched. Each role names the stack it used.

The skills: PHP and Laravel anchor a wide list: JavaScript, TypeScript, Node.js, Vue, React, Java, MySQL, PostgreSQL, plus REST, microservices, queues, AWS, and CI/CD. The github line and a Figma or UX note show the front-to-back reach the title claims.

Why it works: This is a bootcamp-to-backend story told in systems. The summary leads with the Java and Spring Boot stack and one number that scales, then every role names a shipped system and the metric it moved.

The summary: Two lines: the stack and the career start, then one hard result, a Spring Batch pipeline clearing 3.5 million records a night. No adjective pile.

The experience: Receipts at each stop: nightly reconciliation of 3.5 million records, first load cut from 4.1 seconds to 1.4, defects down 70%, and 35,000 accounts migrated clean. The stack is named in every bullet.

The skills: Java and Spring on the back, React and TypeScript on the front, PostgreSQL and Redis for data, AWS and Docker to run it. The GitHub line is there because this role expects a repo.

Why it works: The Angular label needs a back end behind it, and this resume delivers one. It opens with the framework pairing and a cost number, then proves the same front-to-back reach across three enterprise roles.

The summary: One line of scope, an Angular front end on a Java and Spring back end, and one result: 20% off the processing cost of an internal billing platform.

The experience: Enterprise systems with numbers: a Kafka and MariaDB dashboard, processing cost down 20%, a reporting screen 35% faster with ag-Grid, and a clean AngularJS migration. Each role names its stack.

The skills: Angular, RxJS, and NgRx up front; Java, Spring Boot, and Kafka behind; PostgreSQL and MariaDB for data; Docker, Kubernetes, and Jenkins to ship. A GitHub link rounds it out.

Skills for a Full Stack Developer Resume

We counted the skills across 36,776 real full stack developer postings on Huntr. Pull from what employers ask for, then keep only what the specific job description names. A full stack list should touch all three bands below.

Front end: JavaScript (in 50% of postings), React (41%), Angular (33%), CSS (29%), HTML (26%), TypeScript (20%). Name the framework the posting names; React and Angular are not interchangeable to a screener.

Back end and languages: Java (40%), Python (27%), Node.js (27%), plus the frameworks that ride on them (Express, Django, Laravel, .NET). Pair a language with the framework you actually shipped in.

Data and delivery: SQL (26%), PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Redis on the data side; Git (26%), Docker (22%), and CI/CD to build and run. These are what turn front-plus-back into full stack.

How to use this: Interview-stage resumes listed a median of 23 skills spread across all three bands. A list that is all front end, or all back end, reads as a specialist. Show the whole path, then cut anything the posting does not mention.

Action Verbs for Full Stack Developer Resumes

Build: built, shipped, launched, implemented, developed. Use these where a stack and a result can follow: built a Django platform that processes 2M records a month.

Improve: cut, reduced, sped up, optimized, migrated. These carry a before and after: cut initial load from 4.5 seconds to 1.3; migrated a monolith to containers.

Own: owned, maintained, ran, mentored, scaled. Pair with scope: own a self-serve app with 40,000 monthly users; ran the on-call rotation one week a month.

The weak version of a full stack bullet starts with "worked on." The strong version names the stack, the thing that shipped, and the number that moved.

Turn a Weak Bullet Into a Strong One

Weak

Worked on both front-end and back-end tasks for the company's main web application using various technologies.

Strong

Built a checkout feature end to end in React and Express, from UI to Postgres schema, that cut cart abandonment from 71% to 58% and shipped in one two-week sprint.

Same work, different evidence. The strong bullet answers the three questions a hiring engineer asks: what stack, what shipped, and what number changed.

Full Stack Developer vs Software Developer on a Resume

Scope: a full stack developer proves reach across the whole app, from browser to database; a software developer resume can go deep on one layer instead. Evidence: full stack bullets should name both a front-end framework and a data store in the same feature, while a software developer bullet can live entirely in the back end or the client. Signal: if every bullet you write touches UI, an API, and a database, the full stack title fits; if they cluster on one layer, the plainer title may read stronger.

Getting a Full Stack Developer Resume Read by the Screener

Screeners match strings, not concepts. Spell the stack the way the posting does (React, not "React.js" if they wrote React; PostgreSQL, not "Postgres" if they wrote PostgreSQL), keep the title standard (Full Stack Developer, not Code Wizard), and put the framework names in both the summary and the skills list so a keyword pass finds them. Run the posting through Huntr's keyword scanner to see the terms you are missing, then let Resume Tailor fold the matches into your bullets. Tailored resumes reach the interview stage at about 5.8% in our data, roughly 1.6 times the rate of generic ones.

Full Stack Developer Resume FAQ

How long should a full stack developer resume be?

Short. The median resume in this interview set ran under a page, and 97% stayed at two pages or under, with a median of three jobs. A dense one page beats a padded two. Cut old roles before you cut a shipped project.

For this role, close to yes. A GitHub link sat on 12 of the 16 interview-stage resumes here, which is far more than most jobs on this site. Link a repo you would be glad to have read, even a small one, and put it in the contact line.

What skills should a full stack developer put on a resume?

Cover all three layers, then match the posting. Across 36,776 postings the constants are JavaScript (50%), React (41%), Java (40%), Angular (33%), Python (27%), Node.js (27%), SQL (26%), and Git (26%). The interview set listed a median of 23 skills, spread across front end, back end, and delivery.

Can I get full stack interviews without a computer science degree?

Yes. This set includes a bootcamp grad and a former clinical research coordinator who reached interviews. Most resumes carried a Bachelor of Science or a B.Tech, but a certificate or bootcamp line next to a public repo and shipped projects did the work when the degree was not in CS.

Methodology

The two verified examples are composites of real resumes attached to jobs that reached the interview stage for full stack developer roles on Huntr. We swap names, employers, and schools for comparable real ones and check every swap against our database, so no example points back to a person. Where several resumes blend into one example we keep figures as written; where a single resume anchors an example we shift its numbers to nearby values. The interview companies we name are real and left unchanged.

The stack-specific examples are models, marked as such on every callout, and they make no interview claim. Their skills come from the postings data cited above, and their shape follows the verified set: the stack and one scope number in the summary, a result in every bullet, and a public repo where the role expects one.

Conclusion

Across these interview-stage resumes the pattern held: name the stack up top with one number that shows scale, write bullets where a feature crosses from the browser to the database and a metric moves, keep a public repo close by, and stop at the length the work earns. None of it needs a CS degree or a famous logo. It needs proof that you can build the whole thing and keep it running.
