Electrophysiology ARNP, Nurse Practitioner; or PA-C, Physician Assistant to join our
Heart Institute team . The Electrophysiology ARNP/PAC will function as a member of the Electrophysiology Section providing both inpatient and outpatient services at UWMC.
WORK SCHEDULE: Full-time, 100% FTE (40 hours weekly)

DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION:
The Heart Institute at UW Medical Center – Montlake & SLU provides a full range of heart healthcare and prevention services including general cardiology, cardiac diagnostic imaging tests and procedures, cardiac surgery, arrhythmia management and electrophysiology, interventional cardiology, structural heart services, advanced heart failure management, heart transplant and ventricular assist devices (VADs), adult congenital heart disease management, cardiac psychiatry, cardiovascular genetics and other advanced services.

PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Participate in daily rounds, admission, daily care, discharge of Cardiology E service patients, participate in the inpatient and outpatient EP referral clinics, as well as the ICD and pacemaker device follow up clinics
Collaborate with attending physician, fellows, residents and other APPs to establish patient care plans and outpatient follow-up
attend Electrophysiology conferences on Tuesday mornings at 7:30am
Encouraged to attend Cardiology and Cardiothoracic Surgery conferences on Wednesday mornings and Cardiology Grand Rounds on Friday mornings and any other conferences of the Electrophysiology Section
Support the electrophysiology program by arranging appropriate pre-procedure studies, laboratory tests and performing admission history and physical exams when patients are admitted for their procedure
Assist in the discharge of these patients following their ablation procedure and provide outpatient follow-up under the direction of the EP attending physician
Help to maintain the ventricular tachycardia (VT) and atrial fibrillation (AF) ablation program databases.
REQUIREMENTS:
Master’s Degree in nursing from an accredited school of nursing
Washington State Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner License with prescriptive privileges
License to practice as an RN in Washington State
National certification as a Nurse Practitioner
BLS certification
OR
Licensure as a Physician’s Assistant in the State of Washington
National certification from a national certifying body (NCCPA)
Applicant must be eligible to receive hospital staff appointments for adjunct staff membership by the Organized Medial Staff of the hospital under Medical Staff By-Laws for hospital-based positions
BLS certification
