Advanced Practice Provider (Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant) .
WORK SCHEDULE 10 hour shifts
This position will work 7 days on, followed by 7 days off
The anticipated work schedule for this position is 10:00am-7:00pm or similar mid shift work hours - additional details will be provided in the interview.
OVERVIEW
The Psychiatry Consult Team supports patients throughout our hospital experiencing psychiatric disorders and challenging behaviors. This includes patients in our Emergency Department, patients on our acute care floors, and patients who have been admitted to our Center for Behavioral Health and Learning. The Advanced Practice Provider provides consultations, behavioral assessments, and medication evaluations. The Advanced Practice Provider also provides evaluation, treatment planning, and discharge planning services to patients in the civil commitment process and on single bed certification (SBC) status.
PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Perform psychiatric assessments
Confirm whether patients need medications or therapy
Facilitate placements into inpatient or outpatient units
Work with affidavits and DCRs (designated crisis response centers) during the referral process
Perform patient histories and physical exams
Interpret diagnostic values and formulate treatment plans
Order lab and imaging procedures
Work closely with consulting psychiatrists and physicians
Support a wide range of patients with mental health issues, cognitive disturbances, and substance abuse disorders
REQUIREMENTS
Current licensure to practice as an ARNP or PA in Washington State
A National Provider Identifier (NPI)
Demonstrated clinical expertise supporting a broad range of behavioral health needs
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Crisis Prevention International (CPI) Certified Instructor
Experience with trauma-informed care
