For detailed information on Benefits for this position, click here. The HARBORVIEW- Neuroscience Clinic has an outstanding opportunity for a PATIENT SERVICE SPECIALIST 2 - Full-Time Day Shift) .
Under supervision of the Neurosciences Supervisor, the Patient Service Specialist 2 will perform functions to support the highly specialized services in Neurosurgery, Stroke, Sports Medicine, and surgical Spine Clinic.
WORK SCHEDULE
  • Full-time Days (100% FTE)
  • Monday- Friday 830am-1700pm
  • No telework

  • RESPONSIBILITIES
    • Review and prioritize incoming referrals from multiple sources using their knowledge of each physician’s specialized skill set
    • Triage incoming referrals to assure the appropriate specialist will be reviewing referrals
    • Handle intake of each referral requests, ensuring complete information is received and entered into the electronic medical record system in a timely manner
    • Schedule initial patient appointments either in person or via Telemedicine based on provider and patient preference
    • Coordinates appointments for the patient at the appropriate facility and assists with urgent insurance authorization or financial assistance
    • Manage and resolve a high volume of phone inquiries and messages
    • Review appointment follow-up requirements and expectations with patients. Educate them to ensure adequate understanding of the purpose of each appointment and follow-up recommendations
    • Offer financial assistance to self-pay and underinsured patients. Provide them with the necessary steps to apply for financial counseling
    • Serve as a primary program contact to other departments, patients, providers outside facilities
    REQUIREMENT
    High school graduation or equivalent AND two years of experience in the program specialty OR equivalent education/experience.
