Day Shift – UW MEDICINE ITS SERVICES CORE HOURS ARE 08:00 – 17:00 (PST), Monday-Friday
Required participation in team on call schedule DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION UW Medicine IT Services (ITS) is a shared services organization that supports all of UW Medicine. UW Medicine is comprised of Harborview Medical Center (HMC), UW Medical Center-Montlake Campus (UWMC-Montlake), UW Medical Center-Northwest Campus (UWMC-NW), Valley Medical Center (VMC), UW Medicine Primary Care (UWMPC), UW Physicians (UWP), UW School of Medicine (SOM), and Airlift Northwest (ALNW). ITS is responsible for the ongoing support and maintenance of the infrastructure and applications which support all these institutions, along with the implementation of new services and applications that are used to support and further the UW Medicine mission.

100% matching, 100% immediately vesting 403(b) PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES Under the general guidance of the Provider Data Systems Technology Team Manager, the primary focus of the Applications Analyst 1 position is to closely collaborate with other ITS team members and internal UW Medicine customers to provide a service oriented, point of technical leadership for systems supported by the Provider Data System team, including Epic SER, Kyruus Provider Directory, and internal solutions.
Analyze customer business and technical requirements and issues, recommending solutions
Design, build, test, and implement enhancements to meet functional requirements
Provide production support and ongoing system troubleshooting, maintenance, monitoring, and training
Manage projects, processes, and documentation to support customer needs The Applications Analyst I is both a subject matter expert for clinical and/or business operations and a developing technical systems expert who possesses an array of cross-functional systems knowledge and support skills for applications used by multiple UW Medicine customer groups. The Analyst's responsibilities span the entire lifecycle of UW Medicine clinical and business systems activities.
REQUIREMENTS Bachelor’s degree Computer Science, Health Information Systems, Math, Information Technology, Business Administration, or related field or equivalent combination of education/experience
2+ years recent healthcare or IT experience
Exposure to EHR systems application maintenance/support
Healthcare IT, medical records, registration, or business office experience
Experience addressing complex requirements and issues
Experience collaborating with key organizational stakeholders
Strong attention to detail
Demonstrates a strong customer-oriented mindset, with experience effectively satisfying their expectations
Experience participating in the process of defining and gathering customer requirements
Experience assisting team members and sharing knowledge
Proficiency with desktop computers and Office applications
Exposure to database structures, data definitions, and data relationships
Exposure to formal project management methods
Experience assisting staff on the use of systems, preferably in a healthcare environment DESIRED EXPERIENCE Previous experience in and knowledge of academic healthcare systems and/or operational environments.
EHR experience, as an Analyst, Informaticist, or “Super” User
An understanding of departmental/clinical operations, workflow, policies, and procedures
Experience with operational workflow design of clinical software
Experience independently outlining work plans and meeting deadlines
Experience executing test plans and test cases
Experience supporting enterprise customers, both internal and external
Holds Epic Security certification with SER badge
Understands Epic security infrastructure and possesses knowledge of provisioning provider access
Experience with Excel data analysis
