WORK SCHEDULE
  • 100% FTE – 40 hours per week
  • Day Shift – UW MEDICINE ITS SERVICES CORE HOURS ARE 08:00 – 17:00 (PST), Monday-Friday

  • PLEASE NOTE
    On-site presence may be required on a scheduled or as-needed basis, particularly for:

  • Clinical go-lives or system rollouts (workflow changes)
  • End-user training and support
  • Stakeholder engagement meetings
  • Team building or collaboration sessions

  • DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION
    UW Medicine IT Services (ITS) is a shared services organization that supports all of UW Medicine. UW Medicine is comprised of Harborview Medical Center (HMC), UW Medical Center-Montlake Campus (UWMC-Montlake), UW Medical Center-Northwest Campus (UWMC-NW), Valley Medical Center (VMC), UW Medicine Primary Care (UWMPC), UW Physicians (UWP), UW School of Medicine (SOM), and Airlift Northwest (ALNW). ITS is responsible for the ongoing support and maintenance of the infrastructure and applications which support all these institutions, along with the implementation of new services and applications that are used to support and further the UW Medicine mission.

  • PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
    The Epic Applications Analyst - Healthy Planet position’s responsibilities are primarily focused on workflow review, design, configuration, testing, and deployment for users of Healthy Planet functionality in Epic.
    Primary areas of responsibility include, but are not limited to:
  • Analyze customer business, clinical and technical requirements and issues, recommending solutions
  • Design, build, test, and implement enhancements to meet functional requirements
  • Provide production support and ongoing system troubleshooting, maintenance, monitoring, and training
  • Manage projects, processes, and documentation to support customer needs

  • REQUIREMENTS
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Health Information Systems, Math, Information Technology, Business Administration, or related field or equivalent combination of education/experience
  • Epic Healthy Planet and Epic Cogito certification is required
  • 4+ years’ experience must include the following:
  • 2+ years of experience with application/system configuration and implementation of clinical information systems (and/or healthcare applications)
  • Background and understanding of Epic workflows, Value-Based Care (VBC) models and reporting, quality measures (CMS, HEDIS, PCMH), and risk models (HCC)
  • Strong experience in Epic reporting, including Reporting Workbench, SlicerDicer, Radar Dashboards, and Epic databases (Chronicles)
  • Strong experience walking clients through the use of systems, preferably in a healthcare environment
  • Strong understanding of migration methodology
  • Demonstrated experience serving as a role model in providing an exceptional business partnership with customers, continuously adapting to their needs and feedback
  • Demonstrated ability to translate business requirements into design specifications, follow technical change control processes, and maintain technical documentation
  • Experience mentoring others to increase overall professional effectiveness

  • DESIRED EXPERIENCE
  • Experience with operational workflow design of clinical software
  • An understanding of departmental/clinical operations, workflow, policies, and procedures
  • Previous experience with Clinical Informatics or in served in Clinical Informatics role
  • Previous experience with EpicCare Ambulatory reporting
  • Certifications in EpicCare Ambulatory, EpicCare Inpatient, Compass Rose, Quality, and Regulatory and Quality Reporting (RQR)
  • Previous experience in and knowledge of academic healthcare systems and/or operational environments.
  • SQL experience
