School of Dentistry has an outstanding opportunity for Patient Services Specialist 2.
The School of Dentistry, Department of Oral Medicine has an outstanding opportunity for a Patient Services Specialist 2 in our DECOD (Dental Education in Care of Persons with Disabilities) clinic. DECOD provides dental care that is not otherwise available in the community for adults with developmental and acquired disabilities. DECOD also provides education to various health professionals, including dental students, dental hygiene students, dental fellows, dental residents, pre-dental students, dental assistants, and pharmacy students. The School of Dentistry DECOD team serves diverse populations and we are equally committed to supporting diversity and inclusion in the workplace.
The individual in this role will perform a variety of clerical and organizational duties to support the clinic, and work as a team with other staff, faculty, and students to help the clinic run smoothly.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Schedule patient appointments
• Scan patient charts
• Answer telephones
• Collate office materials and mail materials to patients
• Fax records to outside providers
• Communicate with providers via Teams
• Set up provider and student Zoom appointments
• Call in prescriptions
• Obtain and verify demographic and financial information
• Process patient paperwork
• Complete Relias trainings before established deadlines
• Perform related duties as required.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
High School graduation or equivalent AND one year of experience in a health care setting, general office or customer services experience, OR equivalent education/experience.
Equivalent education/experience will substitute for all minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license/certification/registration.
