UWMC Medical Specialties at Montlake has an outstanding opportunity for a full-time (100% FTE, 40 hours per week), day shift Patient Services Specialist 2 to join our clinic! The Patient Services Specialist 2 will play a key support role in a growing team that values exceptional patient care and collaboration.

  • PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Demonstrates excellent customer service skills.
  • Responds to patients’ needs and concerns as appropriate.
  • Accepts patient payments (e.g., co-pays, deposits).
  • Coordinates and assists in scheduling ancillary appointments and consults
  • Using clinic guidelines, gathers information on the telephone regarding the nature of the patient concern. Triages calls to appropriate staff; obtains necessary information for the return call; initiates emergency procedure when necessary, uses appropriate documentation tools.
  • Orders, coordinates, and distributes medical records as needed.
  • Obtains necessary insurance plan information.
  • Maintains ongoing documentation and tracks authorized referrals.
  • Reviews the Epic Referral Queue daily for incoming orders and new patient referrals.
