click here. UWMC Medical Specialties at Montlake has an outstanding opportunity for a
full-time (100% FTE, 40 hours per week), day shift Patient Services Specialist 2 to join our clinic! The Patient Services Specialist 2 will play a key support role in a growing team that values exceptional patient care and collaboration.
POSITION HIGHLIGHTS Convenient locations
Close proximity to public transportation PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES Demonstrates excellent customer service skills.
Responds to patients’ needs and concerns as appropriate.
Accepts patient payments (e.g., co-pays, deposits).
Coordinates and assists in scheduling ancillary appointments and consults
Using clinic guidelines, gathers information on the telephone regarding the nature of the patient concern. Triages calls to appropriate staff; obtains necessary information for the return call; initiates emergency procedure when necessary, uses appropriate documentation tools.
Orders, coordinates, and distributes medical records as needed.
Obtains necessary insurance plan information.
Maintains ongoing documentation and tracks authorized referrals.
Reviews the Epic Referral Queue daily for incoming orders and new patient referrals.
