The
UW MEDICAL CENTER - MONTLAKE PHARMACY DEPARTMENT has an outstanding opportunity for a
FULL-TIME PHARMACY TECHNICIAN 2 - QUALITY ASSURANCE STERILE COMPOUNDING (Rotating/Variable Shifts) to join our Pharmacy team! The Pharmacy Technician 2 will perform specialized, technical pharmaceutical functions related to the activities of the UW Medicine compounded sterile product (CSP) quality assurance program. This position acts as a technical subject matter expert for CSP quality assurance. All activities shall be performed under the supervision of a registered pharmacist.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: • Perform viable sampling within classified cleanroom spaces and segregated compounding areas for UW system pharmacies as part of a quality assurance state of control.
• Perform regulatory driven documentation functions for designated areas of the pharmacy.
• Assist in the preparation and documentation of the sterile compounding quality assurance program.
• Assist with standardization of training and competency of staff as it relates to sterile compounding.
• Assist with charging and/or billing coordination specific to quality assurance compounding functions.
• Assist with audits of personnel work practice and facilities as it relates to compounded sterile product.
• Assist with the development, implementation, and evaluation of compounded sterile products.
• Assure that policies and procedures are followed in coordination with the Pharmacy Quality Assurance Pharmacist, and Pharmacy System Leads, Managers and Directors.
• Travel between sterile compounding sites throughout the system.
• Perform the duties of a Pharmacy Technician I.
REQUIREMENTS: Six (6) months of experience as a Pharmacy Technician 1 or equivalent education/experience.
LEGAL REQUIREMENT: State of Washington Pharmacy Technician certification.
