The UW MEDICAL CENTER - NORTHWEST – OPERATING ROOMS have multiple outstanding opportunities for SURGICAL TECHNOLOGISTS (Various Days/Shifts).
Our Surgical Technologists enjoy working in a state-of-the art environment, collaborating with a stable team of experienced colleagues, and receiving mentorship from distinguished clinicians/faculty at one of the nation’s top-ranked research institutions. The Surgical Technologist (Operating Room Technician) is responsible for facilitating assigned surgical procedures through the assembly of instrumentation, equipment, and supplies. This position functions competently and independently within multiple specialty areas. Competitive candidates will have certification as scrub technologist and/or six months of experience as an Operating Room Technician in a hospital operating room or childbirth center.

PRIMARY SURGICAL TECHNOLOGIST RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
• Take the lead in the patient care experience by prepping and maintaining our Operating Rooms for surgical procedures
• Collaborate with a variety of stakeholders and partners, from our scheduling team to surgeons
• Work in a dynamic, fast-paced, problem-solving environment while maintaining vigilance of instruments and supplies used during surgical procedures
• Perform scrub role while supporting patient safety a sterile environment
• Support of post-operative tasks, including removal of contaminated instruments, decontamination, sterilization and turnover of the Operating Room
WHAT WE REQUIRE:
Completion of a Surgical Technologist program AND one year of experience assisting clinical staff in a variety of operative procedures in an operating room environment OR equivalent education/experience.
LEGAL REQUIREMENT:
Registered by the State of Washington as a Surgical Technologist
WHAT WE OFFER:
Along with competitive pay and benefits, we offer the following shift differentials for our Surgical Technologist staff:
• Evening Shift: $1.75/hour
• Night Shift: $2.50/hour
• Weekends: $2.50/hour
