DIETARY UNIT AMBASSADOR .
WORK SCHEDULE 50% FTE, Days
Week 1 Fr, Sat, Sun 7:00am-3:30pm
Week 2 Sat, Sun 7:00am-3:30pm.
POSITION HIGHLIGHTS
Presents menus and instructs patients on the meal ordering process. The Ambassador will need to evaluate the patient’s ability to access and function in the Room Service Dining program. Assistance is provided to patients and/or caregivers in placing meal orders
Serves patient meals and nourishments; ensures food is handled safely and patient meal trays are delivered accurately. Actively contributes to team process, maintains cooperative work environment and works to improve quality of service provided to patients.
PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBLITIES
Receives new diet orders, visits the patient within a half hour. The Ambassador will present menus to the patient or guests, introduce the features of the Room Service Program
Responds to Patient, Nurse and Call Center inquiries. Distribute menus
Delivers nourishments and tube feedings to patients in accordance with patient diet orders
Provides basic nutritional services to patients such as meal and snack delivery
Takes unit nourishment inventory and stock
Act as a liaison between the patient and the department.
Serve in a guest relations role to patients and visitors.
Relay patient food requests/comments to Call Center and Food Service Supervisor/Program Support Supervisor
Deliver or relay messages from nursing and other health care staff to the department
Share any issues to the appropriate staff. Turn in phone and i-Pad.
REQUIRED POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
Possession of, or eligible to obtain a Washington State Food Worker Card within two weeks of employment, and one year of food service experience in a health care setting.
Equivalent education/experience will substitute for all minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license/certification/registration.
