Orthopedic Trauma APP (Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant) - OR/Inpatient and Ortho Trauma Clinic $10,000 Recruitment Incentive/Sign-On Bonus for eligible new employees joining UW Medicine Harborview Medical Center has new job opportunities within our nationally recognized orthopedic trauma service. The successful candidate will be a critical part of the daily responsibilities of our orthopedic trauma services supporting the following areas:
o Clinics: They will work closely with their assigned teams, enhancing continuity of care and reducing clinic wait times. Additional clinics: They will also be able to run additional clinics for overflow, telehealth, and post ops.
o Operating rooms: These APPs will assist in surgeries and perioperative care, improving operating room efficiency and increasing room utilization to enhance patient throughput.
o Emergency Department: While not specifically assigned to the ED, they will be available to assist during volume surges.
Hours: Typically 10 hour days with rotating weekends (80 hours every 14 days) and the potential for some nights.
Under general administrative supervision of the Assistant Director of Inpatient APPs, and medical supervision of the medical director, the APP provides clinical expertise to patients and their families, is a resource person for health care providers, and participates in research and teaching programs.
Work is performed 7 days a week with general independence and decision-making responsibility, under the guidance of the attending physicians, and in consultation with Fellows, residents and the unit’s Nurse Manager.

Requirements: • Nurse Practitioner:
- Must be an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (ACNP).
- Masters or Doctorate Degree in nursing from an accredited school of nursing.
- AND Washington State Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner License with prescriptive privileges.
- AND National certification as an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner.
• Physician Assistant:
- Licensure as a Physician’s Assistant in the State of Washington.
- AND national certification from a national certifying body (NCCPA).
• BLS/ACLS certification required
• Applicant must be eligible to receive hospital staff appointments for adjunct staff membership by the Organized Medial Staff of the hospital under Medical Staff By-Laws for hospital-based positions.
