UW MEDICAL CENTER - MONTLAKE PHARMACY DEPARTMENT is seeking a highly-motivated
FULL-TIME INVESTIGATIONAL PHARMACIST - INVESTIGATIONAL DRUG SERVICES (IDS) (Rotating/Variable shifts) to provide clinical pharmacy services to investigators in support of investigational drug studies.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: • Prepare, update, and maintain drug study protocols as needed for implementation and daily operation of studies in IDS. Review and oversee the ongoing accuracy and integrity of investigational drug records for compliance.
• Ensure quality while conducting responsibilities in support of clinical trials and patients. Actively participate in meetings with study team, sponsors, including audits and quality inspections.
• Clinically review, verify, and dispense for study participants to receive study medication per protocol for the inpatient and ambulatory settings. Counsel patients on medications for use at home.
• Serve as a drug information resource for health care professionals, patients, and their families. Collaborate with other pharmacists when implementing and overseeing a clinical trial with support through the main or satellite pharmacies.
• Precept pharmacy students and residents. Provide in-services to interdisciplinary staff and perform related duties as required.
Strong candidates are adaptable, good problem solvers, and work patiently and effectively with others. Knowledge of sterile compounding practices (USP 797), hazardous drug handling (USP 800), along with prior experience using EPIC pharmacy applications, productivity tools, and other drug information databases/primary literature searches are desired.
REQUIREMENTS: Two years of experience in pharmacy practice. Months spent in the completion of an American Society of Health System Pharmacists accredited residency training program may substitute month-for-month for the experience.
LEGAL REQUIREMENT: State of Washington Pharmacist License.
