UW Medical Center – Northwest has an outstanding opportunity for a 90% FTE (36 hours per week), night shift REGISTERED MEDICAL ASSISTANT to join our Emergency Department. Our Emergency Department is a 22-bed Level IV Trauma Center, providing both surgical services and critical care. Our Emergency Department provides specialized treatment for acute cardiac, trauma, and stroke patients, and we have been recognized for providing one of the fastest times to treatment for cardiac patients in the Seattle region. The Registered Medical Assistant will support RNs, ARNPs, and MDs in the evaluation and treatment of emergency department patients.

SCHEDULE:
3x12 shift schedule, night shift only (7:00pm - 7:30am).
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provides Patient Care

Performs Point-of-Care (POC) Testing, splinting, and wound care

Assists patients to exam room and documents patient history, medications and vital signs

Assists RN with triage process

Facilitates flow of patients and maximizes operational efficiency

Equipment, Supplies and Work Environment

Maintains clean, stocked exam rooms

Inventories, orders and restocks supplies

Emergency Department Support

Obtains records from medical records or other clinics or hospitals

Transports patients within hospital departments

Answers questions and follows through on inquiries

REQUIREMENTS:

Active licensure as a CNA, EMS, EMT, or Military Equivalent in the State of Washington AND eligible for licensure as a Medical Assistant Registered (MA-R)

6 months of experience in an Emergency Room, or equivalent experience in emergency medical services or paramedic services

BLS Certification

DESIRED:

1 year of experience in emergency medical services or paramedic services
