Job Description
We’re looking for a Product Manager to join our Plan+Create Assembly team. The Plan+Create portfolio is at the center of the Hootsuite experience, solving key customer problems, working cross-collaboratively with adjacent portfolios, and partnering closely with social network partners to accelerate the delivery of key publishing functionality. We’re looking for the Product Manager to create clear and impactful strategies, processes, and innovation that ensure Hootsuite leads the market in social publishing, while simultaneously driving quantifiable product reliability, infrastructure scalability and developer productivity.
You will be seen as a collaborative leader across the organization and a key subject matter expert in Hootsuite’s core capabilities, delivering value to our customers and our business. Your primary stakeholders will be many: engineering, design, product marketing, product growth, user research and alliance partners. You will balance many competing priorities to serve the needs of our internal stakeholders and our customers better, and will be responsible for driving a data-informed product roadmap.
This role reports to the Senior Product Manager, P&C and can be based remotely across Canada and USA in accordance with Hootsuite's local employment entities.
WHAT YOU’LL DO:
- Work with primary stakeholders to understand the problem space, define user stories/jobs to be done, manage development backlogs, and develop product roadmaps
- Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to define, document, position, build, launch, measure, and iterate on features and products
- Prioritize user problems by understanding their needs and balancing the impact and reach of solutions against risk, constraints, level of effort and tradeoffs
- Work and guide product development in an agile development environment with a team of top notch engineers
- Participate in regular sprint planning and helping teams remove blockers, manage dependencies and resolve prioritization conflicts
- Analyze data and metrics that derive insights and assist in decision-making, help guide long-term strategy, and determine the success of product initiatives
- Facilitate the user experience by conceiving and managing in-app onboarding and user education guides
- Enable visibility, share learnings, and become a subject matter expert to the rest of the organization, coordinating with peers in marketing, sales, success and support teams
- Share learnings and insights with other product teams in order to help them build highly engaging products
- Coordinate with product marketing to build a communication strategy that will inform our customers about how our products help meet their objectives
- Perform other related duties as assigned
WHAT YOU’LL NEED:
- A post-secondary degree in computer science, business, engineering, and at least 2 years of Product Management experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience, working in an environment delivering technical roadmaps using agile methodologies
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a demonstrated ability to present complex technical information clearly to developers, peer product managers, and senior leaders
