UW Medical Center – Montlake has an outstanding opportunity for a
per diem (0% FTE, variable hours per week), day shift REGISTERED NURSE to join the UW Sports Medicine Center, located at Husky Stadium. This is a great chance to join a state-of-the-art, multidisciplinary clinic that brings together spine care, orthopedics, sports medicine, primary care, and physical therapy.
SCHEDULE: The Sports Medicine Center is open 7am - 7pm on Monday - Thursday, 7am - 6pm on Friday, and 8am - 12pm on Saturday. The Registered Nurse will work variable hours per week, with some weekend shifts required.
RESPONSIBILITIES: The Registered Nurse will be responsible for care coordination and patient education, including pre-op teaching. The Registered Nurse will handle phone triage, respond to MyChart messages, assist with medication refills, and perform prior authorizations. The Registered Nurse will assist with daily staffing, exercise professional communication with team members, and perform as a Charge Nurse when warranted by management. The Registered Nurse will also play a key role assisting providers during minimally-invasive surgical procedures and blood draws, and will perform excisions, wound debridement, and tissue expansions when needed.
REQUIREMENTS: 2 years of current or recent medical-surgical nursing experience LEGAL REQUIREMENTS: An active Registered Nurse license in the State of Washington DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Previous experience in sports medicine or orthopedic medicine is highly desirable
Previous experience in ambulatory nursing or phone triage is preferred
