Swedish Medical Center is looking for a CRO Resource Specialist (0,9 FTE, Night Shift) to work for the Nursing Resource Office at Swedish Shared Service in Seattle, WA.

The CRO Resource Specialist is responsible for preparing and maintaining staffing schedules for assigned departments/units, managing time and attendance for department/unit personnel, and partnering with the Department/Unit Manager to adjust staffing needs.

The CRO Resource Specialist will use predictive staffing analytics and other data driven protocols to manipulate schedules to fulfill staffing needs and prevent premium pay shifts when possible. The successful execution of this work will help departments achieve targeted budget goals and provides inputs and oversight for Kronos accuracy. The position additionally serves as the staffing support personnel, partnering with the Swedish Transfer and Operations Center (STOC), to appropriately staff units for day to day operations, again managing personnel to limit the use of premium pay shifts and create financial stewardship for the organization.

The CRO Resource Specialist exhibits a high level of scheduling, staffing, and timekeeping accuracy, and incorporates predictive staffing models and data driven protocols. The CRO Resource Specialist functions as an engaged, collaborative, and participative member of the interdisciplinary team, consistent with the mission, vision, and values of the Clinical Resource Office and Swedish Medical Center.

In this position you will:

  • In partnership with Core Leaders, the CRO Resource Specialist provides guidance to other staff for the following tasks:
  • Develop and maintain department/unit schedules in accordance with policies, competencies, experience, contractual agreements, and established unit cores - including daily management to accommodate changes as they occur, such as minimizing the need for overtime and other premium pay by meeting staffing needs in a cost-effective manner, while maintaining quality of care and skill mix.
  • Review 24-hour, 48-hour, 72-hour, and weekly schedules for adequacy and distribution of core staff, adjust open shifts accordingly based on the data.
  • Partner with department/unit managers in the accurate use of the Kronos system, and minimizing exception scenarios by guiding their team messaging to the appropriate contractual language, policies and practices.
  • Prepare reports as needed for core leaders so they may hire, and staff based on predictive data.
  • Maintain schedules for new experienced staff in department orientation, for staff going through cross-training programs, and for traveling RNs assigned to department
  • Handling shift scheduling edits and staff attendance including recording absences and reassigning qualified personnel from non-critical coverage areas to critical areas without using costly outside resources.
  • Proactively anticipate and resolve staffing issues as identified, including assigning float staff based on clinical experience and unit need, calling in or calling off staff, and managing staffing emergencies.
  • Coordinate staffing on all shifts for nursing units with alignment to unit matrices, and problem solve needs between units and across campuses to ensure safe staffing plans for each shift

Qualifications:

Required qualifications for this position include:

  • Associate's Degree in business, healthcare or related field -OR- equivalent education from a college or technical school OR 1 year of experience in a similar or related field.
  • 1 year Experience with staffing, scheduling and/or timekeeping

Preferred qualifications for this position include:

  • 1 year Familiarity with electronic scheduling systems such as Shiftwise and Kronos software.
  • 1 year Basic knowledge of medical terminology
  • 1 year Customer service experience
