Swedish Medical Center is looking for a Prospective Payment System Coordinator (1.0 FTE, Day Shift) to work in Rehab Administration at Swedish Cherry Hill in Seattle, WA.

The PPS (Prospective Payment System) Coordinator is responsible for regulatory oversight of the Acute Rehabilitation Unit (ARU), to include adherence with DNV, DOH, CARF (Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities) and IRF PPS (Inpatient Rehabilitation Facility Prospective Payment System) requirements. The PPS Coordinator oversees the process of providing accurate and timely data to the appropriate federal and state entities, CARF, and CMS. Using discretion and independent judgment, the PPS Coordinator is responsible for the oversight of the IRF-PAI (Inpatient Rehabilitation Facility – Patient Assessment Information) process. The PPS Coordinator oversees all aspects of data collection for the IRF-PAI to ensure the presence of supporting documentation and that the data is congruent, conducts ongoing review of the CMS data submitted and the patient's medical record to assure that the documentation is accurate, oversight regarding the length of stay in collaboration with the clinical team, and provides staff education to ensure compliance with CMS guidelines. In addition, the PPS Coordinator develops and interprets policies and procedures and acts as the primary resource for immediate problem solving in regards to QI scoring/training, CARF survey readiness, regulatory audit requests, and ARU specific quality improvement initiatives. This position requires a positive working relationship with interdisciplinary staff as well as serving as a regulatory educator to staff. Providing back up coverage for the Admissions Coordinator-Case Manager is required every other weekend and as needed.

In this position you will:

• Coordinates program compliance meets all criteria for CMS, DNV, DOH, CARF, and other regulatory/accrediting bodies
• Coordinates in regulatory survey preparation, compliance enforcement, and assignments during/after the survey.
• Collaborates and aligns work objectives with Accreditation Specialists and Accreditation and Safety Coordinator.
• Develops and implements continuous quality improvement related to regulatory, enterprise, system, and department initiatives; conducts operations quality assurance audits and coaches staff on areas of opportunity & improvement.
• Independently provides consultation to core leaders and caregivers in establishing quality goals, identifying barriers, developing outcomes, creating and monitoring corrective action plans, implementing changes, analyzing results, documenting measurable progress and graphically displaying information.
• Supports the regulatory implementation process by collecting, analyzing and reporting data, maintaining project work plans and supporting materials, updating issue logs, organizing meetings and working with users to understand and develop operational workflow.Responsible for data analysis, spotting data trends, performing gap analysis, generating reports and communicating findings.
• Prepares reports/data by compiling information from a variety of internal/external sources.
• Prepares drafts and finalizes reports, agreements, memoranda, and presentations using various computer software applications.

Qualifications:

Required qualifications for this position include:

• Bachelor's Degree Physical Therapy OrOccupational Therapy Or Master's Degree Speech Language Pathology OrMaster's Degree Social Work
• 2 years Acute rehabilitation.
• 2 years Operational consulting, project planning and development.
• Substantial experience in hospital operations/management.
• Extensive experience in analytic work and problem solving.
• PT, OT or SLP: Current license to practice as a Physical Therapist, Occupational Therapist or Speech Language Pathologist in the State of Washington required.
• Social Worker: Licensed Social Work Associate – Independent Clinical (LSWAIC) required. Licensure as an Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) with the Washington State Department of Health under Chapter 18.225 RCW is preferred and may be substituted.
