Where you work matters! Swedish Medical Center is looking for a Physical Therapist (Per Diem, Day shift) to work in Physical Therapy at Swedish/Edmonds in Edmonds, WA.

This Physical Therapist provides quality inpatient and outpatient physical therapy services by identifying patient needs and developing individualized physical therapy programs.

In this position you will:

  • Provides quality patient care for inpatients and outpatients of various ages including selected pediatrics, adolescent, adult and geriatric by: performing assessment and evaluation of the patient on referral to determine patient's level of function; developing a treatment plan based on evaluation with participation of patient and family as appropriate; establishing measurable goals described in functional terms, which include time frames for achievement; administering treatment based on established plan or goals; and assessing patient's progress and results of treatment on a timely basis and revising plan or goals as appropriate.
  • Communicates effectively regarding patient's progress or concerns both verbally and in writing with physician, patient, family, other hospital personnel and community agencies to facilitate the assessment of patient's achievement of goals and to estimate further rehab potential on a timely basis.
  • Oversees all treatment provided by PT Assistants, supportive personnel and students (after one year clinical experience) to assure consistency of quality care and comply with physical therapy standards of practice. Provides orientation, training, guidance and direction as needed. Provides feedback and/or evaluates their performance as required.
  • Maintains all required and necessary documentation in the medical record to promote continuity of care between caregivers and meet JCAHO, hospital, payer and quality of care standards.

Qualifications:

Required qualifications for this position include:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Physical Therapy or Certification from a physical therapy curriculum
  • Current Washington State Physical Therapist License
