Swedish Medical Center is looking for a NRO Resource Specialist (0.9 FTE, Night Shift) to work for the Nursing Resource Office at Swedish Shared Services in Seattle, WA.

The NRO Resource Specialist is responsible for preparing and maintaining staffing schedules for assigned units, managing time and attendance for unit personnel, and partnering with the Clinical Manager to adjust staffing needs.

In this position you will:

  • Under the direction of the Clinical Manager, the NRO Resource Specialist provides guidance to other staff for the following tasks:
  • Develop and maintain unit schedules in accordance with policies, competencies, experience, contractual agreements, and established unit cores - including daily management to accommodate changes as they occur, such as minimizing the need for overtime and other premium pay by meeting staffing needs in a cost-effective manner, while maintaining quality of care and skill mix.
  • Review 24-hour, 48-hour, 72-hour, and weekly schedules for adequacy and distribution of core staff, adjust open shifts accordingly based on the data.
  • Partner with unit managers in the accurate use of the Kronos system, and minimizing exception scenarios by guiding their team messaging to the appropriate contractual language, policies and practices.
  • Prepare reports as needed for unit-based leaders so they may hire, and staff based on predictive data.

Qualifications:

Required qualifications for this position include:

  • Associate's Degree in business, healthcare or related field Or equivalent educ/experience
  • One (1) year familiarity with electronic scheduling system Shiftwise and Kronos software

Preferred qualifications for this position include:

  • One (1) year experience with healthcare staffing, scheduling and timekeeping
  • One (1) year basic knowledge of medical terminology
