Swedish Facilities Engineering is recruiting for a full-time Building Automation Engineer to work on the day shift at the Swedish Issaquah Campus. The Building Automation Engineer (BAE) monitors, evaluates, and adjusts mechanical systems performance for proper and efficient operation including pumps, fans, valves, dampers, terminal units, heat transfer equipment, fluid flow conditions, and air and water system balance.The BAE will assist Facility Engineering staff and contractors with maintaining DDC systems including Siemens Apogee, JCI, Alerton, PowerNet, IMPACC, PLC's and other control software interfaces.

In this position you will:

  • Have knowledge of the application of mechanical devices used for delivery of ventilation, steam, chilled water, hot water, and humidification.
  • Have the ability to read and interpret blueprints, flow charts, schematic, and ladder diagrams, and control sequences, various software languages and formats.
  • Analyze systems and controls strategies, implement changes in control sequences, and troubleshoot system issues.
  • Make recommendations for improving the operation of automated building systems with a focus on energy conservation and regulatory compliance.
  • Support and implement control strategies in support of building energy management goals.
  • Train and instruct employees in methods or procedures using knowledge of capacities and capabilities of personnel and equipment.
  • Assist Facility Engineering staff and contractors with maintaining DDC systems.
  • Oversee implementation of agreed upon maintenance services by controls companies.
  • Coordinate contractor activity with regards to HVAC and automated building system.
  • Help management coordinate assignments for maintenance, repair, and installation of building automation systems components.
  • Support and provide assistance in developing and maintaining control standards.

Qualifications:

Required qualifications for this position include:

  • Bachelor's degree Bachelor of Science or Engineering in Controls, Instrumentation, or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent educ/experience
  • 5 years experience in the design and implementation of DDC building control systems including programming, troubleshooting, operation and maintenance.
  • Must possess experience Commissioning of Building Automation Systems, Programming, Building Automation Systems, graphics creation, and fire alarm system testing and troubleshooting
