Job Description

Spotify is seeking a dedicated and driven Analyst to join its Audiobooks FP&A Team. In this critical role, you will partner with various functions across the business to analyze and project the financial impact of deal terms and royalty payments related to Spotify's audiobooks content. Through a combination of quantitative analysis, strategic thinking, and data-driven insights, you will play a key role in supporting decision-making within Spotify’s audio content licensing strategy and the company's overall business planning and forecasting processes. This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to a rapidly evolving area of Spotify's business, requiring comfort with ambiguity and a growth mindset.

What You'll Do

    • Support global Licensing teams with the negotiation of Spotify’s audiobook publishing and distribution deals through financial modeling, scenario analysis, and business insights.
    • Contribute to ad hoc analyses and business case modeling that support Spotify’s FP&A, Business and Product teams to help support business planning decisions.
    • Help produce a monthly actuals-to-forecast variance analysis on the impacts from audiobook deals, identifying actionable opportunities and KPI trends.
    • Assist in delivering quarterly forecasts by building detailed royalty projection models for audiobooks across all countries where Spotify is live.
    • Collaborate closely with Spotify’s Legal, Accounting, and Finance teams to interpret and implement deal terms, track the financial performance of licensing deals, and assess risks and opportunities.
    • Streamline and optimize current processes, leveraging technology (e.g., AI-Assisted Workflows, Macros, BigQuery connectors) to systematically pull and consolidate data in an efficient way.

Who You Are

    • 2+ years of relevant financial modeling experience in a complex and data-driven business environment. Familiarity with SaaS and/or content licensing business models is a plus.
    • Strong quantitative skills and business acumen, with the ability to drive projects from start to finish. We’re looking for someone who is not afraid of detail and granularity.
    • Experience distilling complexity into articulate narratives and well-synthesized recommendations that cater to diverse audiences, especially those who are not quantitative or technical.
    • Intellectual curiosity, the ability to stay organized, and a proactive approach to learning and execution. You should have an entrepreneurial, collaborative, and “can-do” personality with a track record for nurturing strong cross-functional relationships.
    • Experience with Generative AI agents, SQL, and Business Intelligence tools (Tableau, Looker) are a plus.

Where You'll Be

    • This role is based in New York, New York
    • We offer you the flexibility to work where you work best! There will be some in person meetings, but still allows for flexibility to work from home. We ask that you come in 3 times per week.
The United States base range for this position is $67,172-$95,960, plus equity. The benefits available for this position include health insurance, six month paid parental leave, 401(k) retirement plan, 23 paid days off, 13 paid flexible holidays. Apply for this job
