Job Description
Home is the default screen in the Spotify app, surfacing the best of what Spotify has to offer for every situation—personalized playlists, new releases, old favorites, and undiscovered gems. The Home Personalization Product Area consists of several teams that are focused on matching users to compelling audio content by combining our broad content catalog with machine learning personalization technologies. To do this, we rely on a deep understanding of our users’ listening habits and tastes. Our 500M+ listeners generate over 10 billion interaction events every day, which our machine learning models use to suggest recommendations to suit every situation and intent. We are looking for a Product Manager with a passion for experimentation systems and core configuration infrastructure. You will lead the product vision for critical experimentation infrastructure—tools that enable teams to build, iterate, and evaluate innovations on the Home surface with confidence and scientific rigor. You’ll help shape the experimentation and tooling strategy for Spotify’s Home page. You’ll join a team which focuses on making experiment setup simple, intuitive, and reliable. This is a highly collaborative and technical role that sits at the intersection of experimentation science, developer experience, ML configuration, and Spotify’s core Home surface. You’ll partner with engineers, data scientists, designers, insights teams, and stakeholders across multiple squads to enable reliable experimentation at scale and support innovative tactics like interleaving, covariates modeling, and simulation-based evaluation. The team is critical
What You'll Do
- Own the product strategy and roadmap for internal experimentation infrastructure and tooling supporting Home personalization.
- Partner with engineering to evolve frameworks and systems for setting up, executing, and managing experiments, including simulation-based approaches and model validation.
- Drive innovation in online evaluation methodologies (e.g. interleaving, covariates modeling) to accelerate trustworthy product iteration.
- Collaborate with data science and insights to enhance the observability, transparency, and trustworthiness of experimental outcomes.
- Improve the developer experience for running experiments—debugging, configuring personas, and evaluating cross-device behavior.
- Champion the team's tools across Spotify by driving adoption, education, and engagement among other PMs, engineers, and data teams.
Who You Are
- A technical product manager or someone with a background in Data Science or Engineering, who has built platforms, infrastructure, or tooling for experimentation—not just run A/B tests.
- You thrive at the intersection of infra, ML, data science, and product.
- You have a deep appreciation for the complexity of experimentation at scale, and you think in systems and APIs as much as user flows. You have a passion for building data related products and tooling and understand good systems design.
- You care about developer velocity, experimentation velocity, and removing friction from internal workflows by making optimizations to elevate Home’s online and offline evaluation practices.
- Experienced in defining product strategy with strong documentation and communication skills.
- You communicate with clarity and precision and love turning complex concepts into intuitive solutions.
Where You'll Be
- This role is based in New York.
- We offer you the flexibility to work where you work best! There will be some in person meetings, but still allows for flexibility to work from home.
