Boeing Defense, Space and Security (BDS) Space and Launch Division is looking for a Mid-Level Operational Specialist (Level 3) to join our team in Herndon, Virginia.

The Space and Launch Team creates the next generation products and services for the BDS business unit. We work with proprietary customers in the development of the next-generation technologies in space. Our team focuses on rapid prototyping to demonstrate a host of mission-focused technologies for a variety of customers. Our group works all facets of engineering from technology investment, concept development, proposal writing, requirements and design, build, integration, test, and demonstration of products in their relevant environments.

Position Responsibilities:

• Applies systems engineering processes, methodologies and tools to the design of system of systems, systems and new product development.
• Derives and develops architectures, functional requirements, refinements and product designs.
• Assists in the integration of technical, cost, value, risks and specialty engineering considerations into definition of the product.
• Interfaces with other members of the project or program teams, management, sales and marketing staff, customers and suppliers to meet group, organization and company objectives.
• Performs technical planning and control; maintains and improves processes and software tools.
• Trains and instructs others.
• Works under general direction.

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/ Experience):

• 1+ years of experience working in cross functional teams
• 1+ years of experience with the basic use of Microsoft (MS) Office Tools
• 1+ years of experience in troubleshooting, analysis, and problem- solving strategies
• Willingness to work a rotating shift to include weekends and holidays
• Willingness to work in a 24x7 operations and support process experience

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

• Bachelor’s Degree of higher
• 1+ years of experience with Linux Operating Systems
• Some understanding of the Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA) process or other engineering problem resolution/solution process

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

Summary pay range: $98,600-$133,400
