We are seeking an experienced Global Competitive Intelligence Director focused on China to join our innovative Global CI Team. This role is crucial for integrating intelligence on the powerful and rapidly evolving Chinese innovation landscape into our global strategic directives.

What You Will Do

• Deliver Strategic Competitive Landscapes of China innovation that will inform and influence the Global Competitive Intelligence reports and the Global Strategy
• Collaborate with cross-functional partners to gather and analyze competitive insights from the Chinese market, informing AstraZeneca’s global strategy.
• Identify and assess key Chinese innovations, assets, and emerging biotech firms.
• Conduct research, analyze data and derive actionable insights and recommendations that are shared across the TA and with senior leaders to drive high quality, evidence-driven strategic decisions
• Responsible for proactively flagging key trigger events in the competitive landscape and driving work on potential implications for AZ.
• Develop and communicate robust data-driven insights to guide strategic decisions and enhance our competitive positioning, with a particular focus on identifying trends and potential opportunities within the Chinese innovation ecosystem and connecting with the R&D Strategy team
• Scientific and market Contextualization: Leverage a deep understanding of China's and Global ́s treatment pathways, healthcare systems and scientific environment to provide AstraZeneca with a comprehensive view of the assets and collaborations that will translate into Global differentiated assets
• Develop communication channels with Chinese and Global teams to ensure best practices and competitive insights are shared effectively across the global network.
• Engage with key stakeholders, including Strategy and CI Chinese Team, Global and Chinese BD team, Global R&D Strategy and CI teams to align competitive intelligence initiatives with broader business objectives.

Who You Are

• Science related degree (PhD) with deep understanding of biologic mechanisms (ideally related to cardiovascular, respiratory and immunology therapeutic areas)
• 8+ years in Pharmaceutical Industry
• Experience in consulting/Analytical Expertise: Advanced degree in a related field or experience in consultancy with strong analytical abilities and in-depth knowledge of Chinese scientific landscape.
• Competitive Intelligence experience: Proven ability in competitive monitoring, analysis, adept at deciphering complex market dynamics and trends.
• Ability to deal with ambiguity and objectively challenge and influence senior stakeholders
• Business acumen
• Curious, empathetic, proactive, you are passionate about learning and pushing the boundaries
• Excellent interpersonal skills allowed to serve as a catalyst and enabler
• Consulting and Communication Skills: Experience in consulting, bridging teams to distil complex insights into actionable intelligence. Able to communication prioritized insights in a clear and convincing way.
• Collaborative Leadership: Capable of leading cross-functional efforts, cultivating a culture of open exchange to enhance strategic outcomes. Able to working in a matrix complex environment, being proactive in connecting with internal stakeholders
