UW MEDICAL CENTER - MONTLAKE - PHARMACY DEPARTMENT is looking for an outstanding
PHARMACY TECHNICIAN 2 to join our Inpatient Pharmacy team!
WORK SCHEDULE · Full-Time / 40-hours per week
· Day shift
POSITION HIGHLIGHTS · Perform specialized, technical pharmaceutical tasks such as maintaining a controlled substance area and/or automated medication distribution system, and area-specific specialized technical tasks such as hazardous drug preparation

PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES · Perform the duties of a Pharmacy Technician 1
· Prepare medications from a physician order which may include compounded sterile products, hazardous medications and extemporaneously prepared doses
· Accurately perform pharmaceutical calculations
· Prepare sterile products and chemotherapy hazardous medications using appropriate aseptic technique according to USP 797 guidelines
· Troubleshoot technical questions related to specialized area. Serve as a resource to nursing, pharmacy and medical staff for policies and procedures
· Maintain all quality assurance documentation required for specialized duties
· Participate in monthly outdate and unit inspection program
REQUIRED POSITION QUALIFICATIONS Six (6) months of experience as a Pharmacy Technician 1 or equivalent education/experience
LEGAL REQUIREMENT State of Washington Pharmacy Technician certification
