Monday- Friday 7:30-1700, the shift is actually 830-1700

DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION
Conveniently located in the Ninth & Jefferson building across from Harborview Medical Center, the Sports Medicine Center at Harborview is more than a sports injury clinic. We offer a full range of sports medicine services in a convenient, comfortable and patient-friendly setting.
Our providers work with people of all ages and abilities, including athletes and non-athletes alike. They specialize in musculoskeletal radiology, orthopedic surgery, physical therapy, rehabilitation and sports medicine, sports concussion and sports psychology.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Review and prioritize incoming referrals from multiple sources using their knowledge of each physician’s specialized skill set
Triage incoming referrals to assure the appropriate specialist will be reviewing referrals
Handle intake of each referral requests, ensuring complete information is received and entered into the electronic medical record system in a timely manner
Schedule initial patient appointments either in person or via Telemedicine based on provider and patient preference
Coordinates appointments for the patient at the appropriate facility and assists with urgent insurance authorization or financial assistance
Manage and resolve a high volume of phone inquiries and messages
Review appointment follow-up requirements and expectations with patients. Educate them to ensure adequate understanding of the purpose of each appointment and follow-up recommendations
Offer financial assistance to self-pay and underinsured patients. Provide them with the necessary steps to apply for financial counseling
Serve as a primary program contact to other departments, patients, providers outside facilities
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's Degree in a medically related or public relations field
Two years of experience in a tertiary patient care setting involving interaction with a variety of medical services, contact with patients and families, interaction with physicians, and proficiency in medical terminology
OR
An equivalent combination of education/experience
