This role is ideal for someone who no longer actively writes production code but remains deeply technical — someone who provides architectural guidance, reviews design and code, and drives engineering excellence. Technical Leadership- Evaluate and guide the architecture and design of complex web applications and systems
- Participate in high-impact design and code reviews to ensure alignment with best practices and maintainable patterns
- Serve as a sounding board for engineers, helping them unblock issues and arrive at optimal solutions

People Management- Manage and grow a team of software engineers through coaching, mentoring, and career development
- Lead performance management and growth conversations with clarity and empathy
- Foster a high-trust, inclusive, and collaborative team environment
- Own and drive hiring for your team, working closely with recruiting partners and engineering leadership
Organizational Development- Collaborate with cross-functional partners (Product, Design, QA, DevOps) to shape execution and delivery plans
- Help define and refine engineering processes and rituals that scale as the team grows
- Drive a culture of ownership, accountability, and continuous improvement
- Contribute to broader engineering org initiatives around talent development, knowledge sharing, and technical excellence
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in software engineering, with 1–3 years in a people management role
- Strong background in building and scaling modern web applications (prior experience with full-stack frameworks and cloud platforms is a plus)
- Experience conducting architecture reviews, guiding technical decisions, and participating in code reviews
- Proven ability to hire, develop, and retain high-performing engineering teams
- Exceptional communication skills with a collaborative leadership style
- Comfortable navigating ambiguity and driving clarity in fast-paced environments
