DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTIONS
The Garvey Institute Center for Neuromodulation opened in April 2024. The clinic provides outpatient, evidence-based Electroconvulsive Therapy (ECT) and Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) services for adult patients with major depressive disorder, bipolar disorder, catatonia, and schizophrenia. This is a complex procedural unit that regularly works with patients undergoing anesthesia.
Our Vascular Procedural Outpatient Suites provide imaging-guided vascular interventions, with and without nurse administered moderate sedation. Common procedures include carotid endarterectomy, TEVAR/EVAR (endovascular thoracic/aortic repair), varicose vein stripping, carotid and iliac artery stenting, saphenous vein ablation and fistulograms with angioplasty. Oversight of the clinic requires knowledge of referrals, prior authorization workflows, and diagnostic imaging to support a positive and timely patient experience. Our Vascular Team sees 15,000 visits annually, including imaging, clinic appointments, and procedures.
PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Manages all day-to-day functions of our Neuromodulation Clinic and our Vascular Procedural Suites
Oversees approximately 25 staff, including Registered Nurses, Assistant Nurse Managers, Medical Assistants, Patient Care Coordinators, and Patient Services Specialists
Optimizes procedural workflows
Implements operational process improvements as the clinics expand their services
Collaborates directly with ambulatory senior leadership regarding access, referrals, and productivity
Ensures evidence-based practice is integrated into department operations
Models customer service standards for staff and practitioners
Interviews and hires new staff
Completes regular performance evaluations for each staff member
Counsels employees, develops staff, and utilizes the disciplinary process when appropriate
REQUIREMENTS
1 year of department manager-level nursing experience
At least 4 years of nursing work experience
Direct nursing experience with procedural, nurse-administered moderate sedation practices
Demonstrated skillsets in project management and clinical workflow development
Current licensure to practice as a Registered Nurse in Washington State
Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing
Knowledge of The Joint Commission, DOH and other regulatory agency standards
