This position is located in Austin, TX with Hybrid work model in place.
The Copado Release Manager is responsible for overseeing the planning, scheduling, coordination, and management of software releases across multiple scrum teams for a Salesforce implementation. This role ensures that releases are delivered on time, within scope, and with the highest quality. The IT Release Manager works closely with development, QA, operations, and other key stakeholders to streamline release processes, mitigate risks, and ensure successful deployments.
Release Planning & Coordination:
• Develop and manage release schedule, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
• Coordinate and communicate with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth release execution.
• Identify and manage dependencies and potential risks in the release process.
Process Improvement:
• Continuously evaluate and improve release management processes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
• Implement best practices and tools for release management, including automation where applicable.
Risk Management:
• Identify potential risks in the release process and develop mitigation strategies.
• Ensure proper rollback procedures are in place in case of deployment failures.
Stakeholder Communication:
• Serve as the primary point of contact for all release-related activities, providing regular updates to stakeholders.
• Collaborate with business and technical teams to gather release requirements and ensure alignment with overall goals.
Quality Assurance:
• Work closely with QA teams to ensure all releases meet quality standards.
• Ensure thorough testing and validation of releases in various environments (development, staging, production).
Post-Release Activities:
• Conduct post-release reviews to identify lessons learned and opportunities for improvement.
• Ensure that all relevant documentation is updated following each release.
• Manage all aspects of Release management which include but are not limited to
• Education & Experience:
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience in IT release management, project management, or related roles.
• Must have experience with Copado, Jira, and Salesforce.
• Skills & Competencies:
• Strong understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) and agile methodologies.
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse teams.
• Knowledge of ITIL practices and principles is a plus.
• Working Conditions:
• Requires occasional evening or weekend work to support release schedules.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
