WORK SCHEDULE
  • 100% FTE, Hybrid

    DEPARTMENT DETAILS
    Enterprise Records and Health Information (ERHI) Records and Information Governance (RIG) is a Shared Service Department that supports all aspects of the patient medical record and business records from governance, integrity, documentation timeliness, completion, clinical coding, billing, release, and tracking to management of access, retention, and destruction. This position reports to the Assistant Director of Records and Information Governance/UW Medicine Records Officer.
    POSITION HIGHLIGHTS
  • Subject matter expert in honest broker functions and research data.
  • Execute an effective compliance program based on the seven elements of compliance.
  • Assist in policy development and maintenance, as well as the development of resources that support Affiliated Developer (AD) compliance effort
  • Conduct and coordinate regular audits, ensuring thorough preparation and follow-up on audit findings.
  • Coordinate with regulatory bodies during inquiries, audits, and investigations. Ensure timely and accurate responses to regulatory requests. Report out findings of audit activities to show compliance with AD training requirements and data pulls.
  • Review and process requests to utilize physical patient records for research purposes, including reviewing the IRB approval.
  • Work collaboratively with other team members and divisions to support and lead compliance initiatives, including in departments specializing in research and IT. Participate in regular meetings, including divisional and cross-divisional committees.
    REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience may qualify as a substitute for bachelor's degree requirement
    AND
  • Two years of records or information analysis experience with patient records
    *Additional qualifying experience performing governance and/or analysis functions may be substituted, year-for-year, for required education. Equivalent education/experience will substitute for all minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license/certification/registration

  • Experience providing training or outreach.
  • Excellent project management and organizational skills.
  • Proven ability to manage and implement complex compliance projects.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel.
