UW MEDICAL CENTER – NORTHWEST - OPERATING ROOMS have an outstanding opportunity for a
FULL-TIME Surgical Facilitator (60% FTE, Day Shifts) . The Surgical Facilitator (Surgical Services Resource Technician) facilitates surgical procedures to optimize efficiency and patient safety.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: • Act as resource and facilitate/coordinate OR procedures to optimize efficiency and service improvement
• Prepare the surgical suite for procedures by assuring the room is clean and contains the appropriate surgical bed for the procedure.
• Stock the suite with instrumentation, supplies, and equipment based on the surgeon’s preference card.
• Participate in room turnover when necessary to ensure surgical cases remain on schedule.
• Remove and put away unused supplies and equipment.
• Transport specimen from the operating room to the lab.
REQUIREMENTS: • High school graduate or GED plus a minimum of 2 years on-the-job training.
• 2 years of experience, including 1 year in Central Processing and 1 year experience setting up surgical cases.
