UW Bothell's Student Engagement & Activities (SEA) has an outstanding opportunity for a Temporary SEA Intern to join their team!
Reporting to the Associate Director of Student Engagement & Activities (SEA), the SEA Intern manages programs designed to foster student learning, development, enhance community building, and promote student retention.
The SEA Intern should be a high energy, creative thinker who is committed to student engagement and leadership, and the specific needs of our key populations (e.g. undergraduate, graduate, residential, commuters & transfer students). The position involves high student contact, and evening and weekend hours are frequent.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
General Programming:
  • Support, implement, and administer co-curricular programs, plans, policies, and services such as student leadership programming, commuter programs, late night and weekend activities, and SEA traditions
  • Support department and division student events and programs as needed.
  • Provide support to the Associate Director with Welcome Week, SEA student staff fall training, and large-scale event planning
    Democracy Programming:
  • Support, implement, and administer programming around the American Democracy Project
  • Collaborate with campus and community stakeholders on programming and projects around democracy and dialogue
    ASUWB Advising:
  • Provides advice and assistance to ASUWB in organizational analysis, team building, strategic program planning, leadership, time management, and problem resolution
  • Assists student leaders with room reservation requests/facilities work orders for Student Engagement & Activities events and student clubs/SEA organizations
  • Advise student staff on budgeting, events, and initiatives. Train student staff on applicable Federal, State, University and Student Affairs policies, procedures and rules regarding operations and expenditures of funds, as well as the intent and rationale behind regulations.
    Duties as assigned:
  • Other duties as assigned by the Associate Director of SEA
    MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
  • High school graduation or equivalent AND Two years of full-time clerical experience OR Equivalent education/experience.
    ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Para-Professional experience within a college or university setting in the areas of student affairs or student activities
  • Must demonstrate skills in advising and working collaboratively with a diverse group of students, staff and faculty
  • Experience coordinating, executing, and evaluating effective student events and programs in a college setting;
  • Strong interpersonal, oral and written communication skills, and administrative skills;
  • Must be excited to work in a diverse, dynamic, challenging environment.
  • Experience working with student government.
