    UW Medical Center-Northwest has an outstanding opportunity for a Certified Nursing Assistant to join us in our new Center for Behavioral Health and Learning building. This position will specifically work in our newly-developed Neuromodulation Clinic, which is located on the first floor of the facility.
    WORK SCHEDULE

  • 40 hours per week
  • Day shift

  • The anticipated start date for this position is March 2024. The Neuromodulation Clinic will open to patients in April 2024.

    DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION
    The Neuromodulation Clinic will provide outpatient evidence-based Electroconvulsive Therapy (ECT) services designed to support a wide array of BEHAVIORAL HEALTH needs. Clinical staff will regularly work with patients under anesthesia and will provide support before, during, and after the ECT procedure.
    ABOUT THE CENTER FOR BEHAVIORAL HEALTH AND LEARNING
    The new Center for BEHAVIORAL HEALTH and Learning , opening on the UW Medical Center – Northwest campus in 2024, offers an unparalleled opportunity to transform mental HEALTH care and to improve mental HEALTH care training in our state. Located in North Seattle, the new facility will feature 75 longer-term adult psychiatry beds, 25 geriatric psychiatry beds, 50 medical/surgical beds focused on patients with psychiatric comorbidities, and a state-of-the-art neuromodulation program. It will also house an interdisciplinary training and workforce development program focused on preparing and supporting the next generation of BEHAVIORAL HEALTH providers for Washington State. The six-story building will be a beautiful place to work with lots of windows, natural lighting and open-concept spaces and will offer amenities including a new kitchen and dining area for patients, staff and visitors.

    PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Direct and indirect care to patients and their families under the general supervision of the Registered Nurse
  • Assist patients with activities of daily living: bathing, showering, dressing, getting in and out of bed or a chair, walking, using the toilet, and eating
  • Maintain a safe environment of care
  • Patient transportation
  • Prepare patients for surgery
  • Perform non-invasive lab procedures
  • Transport equipment and supplies
  • Assist with treatments
  • Perform various clerical tasks
  • Take vital signs

  • REQUIRED POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Current, valid Certified Nursing Assistant Certification (NAC) with WA State (please indicate your NA-C credential number on your resume)
  • High School graduation and six months experience involving direct patient care or customer service in a health care setting; OR equivalent education/experience.
  • Valid American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Provider CPR card by start date.
