About the Role Reporting to the Director, Global Payroll and People Operations, you will play a key role in managing our international payroll operations, focusing on regions across the globe. You will ensure accurate and compliant payroll processing while maintaining an employee-centric approach. This role requires a hands-on management style to lead and support a team of payroll employees.
In your day to day you will:
- Manage and streamline payroll processes to boost efficiency and accuracy, ensuring adherence to payroll schedules.
- Support payroll specialists in resolving routine issues and ensuring timely payroll processing.
- Serve as a backup for payroll specialists during absences to maintain operational continuity.
- Assist with regular payroll cycle tasks such as certifications, reporting, and accounting, ensuring compliance with regulations.
- Establish and enforce payroll standards, conducting root cause analysis for non-compliance instances.
- Develop and maintain payroll procedures and knowledge base in alignment with legal and internal policies.
- Lead payroll department projects including testing, provider changes, and setting up entities in new locations.
- Aid in preparing for internal and external audits to ensure compliance and accuracy.
- Generate payroll reports, and analyzing the data, to provide insights and support decision-making.
- Address escalated inquiries from internal customers, third parties, and stakeholders promptly and effectively.
What We're Looking For:
- Relevant experience in a similar payroll environment, including handling payroll for multiple countries and/or regions.
- Experience in leading or managing a small team of payroll or HR specialists.
- Proficiency in Excel (preferred) or Google Sheets, including advanced functions and calculation abilities.
- Experience collaborating with payroll providers and relevant accounting departments.
- Strong time management, analytical, and investigative skills to effectively manage competing priorities with accuracy and efficiency, maintaining high standards.
- Comfortable with relevant tools such as ADP, Papaya Payroll, or similar.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team, fostering support and growth among team members.
- Fluent in written and spoken English; proficiency in additional languages such as French, Spanish, Italian, or German is advantageous.
