Job Description

Role Objective:

  • This position is responsible for developing regional Pricing and Access readiness strategy for Takeda pipeline as well as ensuring execution of pricing and access strategy for inline products in close collaboration with local operating companies.
  • Role will also provide direction and guidance into GPA (Access, Pricing and Health Economics) to ensure needs of GEM are well considered at global level.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Establishing pricing and market access strategies and plans that maximizes the overall value of EMs product portfolio and pipeline
  • Leading the development/customization of payer-relevant argumentation, documentation and tools to support successful implementation in GEM
  • Working with the local operating companies to ensure implementation of the regional PMA and funding strategies
  • Supporting GEMs local PMA teams and reimbursement submissions as needed, including building institutional knowledge of key GEM healthcare systems, HTA and data requirements
  • Monitoring Emerging Market Access trends to anticipate payers’ landscape potential changes and ensure success of Takeda’s assets
  • Leading payer strategies and shared objectives with medical affairs and outcome research function to ensure the GEM region needs are being addressed in global development programs
  • Representing the needs of emerging markets market access requirements to input into R&D, global PMA, outcomes research and commercial teams
  • Ensuring best practices sharing across GEM countries and beyond collaborating with other regions.
  • Supporting regional and LOC teams to build strong access, pricing and HE capabilities to ensure successful launches in GEM as well as advising on resourcing.
  • Working with local operating companies and global pricing to approve, monitor and execute pricing strategy implementation in GEM
  • Partnering with Access to Medicines initiatives to develop and implement innovative patient access strategies whenever needed
  • Supporting commercial teams with business development opportunities by providing PMA insights

Role Education and Experience Requirement:

  • University degree, plus Masters in Healthcare / Pharma or related field
  • Approximately 10 years’ experience in PMA & Health Economics, preferably oncology or specialty care products
  • Training in a health economics, pricing and market access discipline is a pre-requisite
  • Broad experience and track record of successful development and implementation of PMA strategies and plans across multiple markets
  • Excellent understanding of healthcare delivery, reimbursement and payment systems in GEM
  • Prior hands on experience working with and creating economic models
  • Strong and proven people management skills and experience being effective in a matrix environment
  • Substantial experience in working in a cross functional environment with R&D (clinical research, legal, regulatory etc.) and marketing, sales and market access at International levels
