The Opportunity
As the Global Subchapter Lead – Custom Development, you will provide leadership to your team(s), offering expertise and consultancy to business functions and your chapter to meet global demand in an agile manner. You will oversee the technical implementation of initiatives, ensuring software development readiness while managing workload and building the skills and capabilities of chapter members. Your role includes setting and managing objectives for new initiatives, identifying new areas of interest, creating events or activities, and launching projects that align with the Global Chapter’s mission. You will lead your team to resolve complex digital and IT issues across regions and organizations within Takeda, manage workload and development of chapter members, and maintain visibility within the platform or business focus in alignment with the global chapter lead. This may involve developing or partnering with other parts of the organization to promote chapter activities.
Responsibilities :
Resource Allocation and Staffing
- Coordinate and collaborate with the Global Chapter lead and Global Subchapter Leads to staff Subchapter members on Agile teams
- Collaborates with the Global Chapter Lead and technical leads to understand business problems, products to ensure results whilst monitoring skill and capabilities developments
- Manage resource constraints for Subchapter members across the Agile teams, and procure flex resources where appropriate
- Establish and maintains open and clear lines of team communication to facilitate status transparency
- Assess and balance the resourcing needs of the Agile teams with Subchapter member’s development goals
Subchapter Development
- Work closely with the Global chapter leads and other Global Subchapter Leads within the chapter to provide the vision and lead the Subchapter capabilities build-out.
- Cooperate closely with other Global Subchapter Leads within the chapter to ensure consistency in the procedures chapter wide.
- Clearly define different Subchapter capabilities, with a harmonized set of roles and skills
- Lead the Subchapter as an experienced practitioner and be a role model to the members.
- Identify Subchapter members to serve as leaders who help provide training and oversight for their people management responsibilities.
- Manage escalations, risks, and issues related to the services delivered by the Agile teams.
Talent Development
- Foster close cooperation across all chapter members and encourages cross-training, knowledge sharing, and development.
- Works with HR to define roles, recruit top talent, conduct candidate interviews, and onboard new chapter members
- Track the progress of each individual toward completion of the training curriculum
- Set targets for development and growth, and completes final assessment of Subchapter members in professional development, in alignment with the technical capability lead.
- Lead talent development and retention initiatives, including provisioning of training, sharing of best practices, and initiatives to promote a culture of continuous improvement.
Performance Evaluations
- Oversee collection of formative and evaluative feedback for each Subchapter member from their network of professional connections
- Oversee delivery of performance evaluations for Subchapter members, factoring in individual contributions and collective team performance

Skills and Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor’s degree in relevant field, or other relevant work experience.
- 8+ years of relevant professional experience in leading and developing mobile and web oriented software.
- 4+ years of experience in building and managing engineering teams.
- A track record of success in developing technology leaders and staff.
- Excellent written and verbal English skills with ability to clearly present ideas
- Proven ability to architect scalable and robust solutions using mobile/web technologies (.NET/Java, Node.js, Angular, React or similar). Strong understanding of architectural principles, data modeling, and system integration patterns. Experience in designing and implementing enterprise-level systems.
- Expertise with modern DevOps concepts and CI/CD pipeline processes.
- Experience in a fast-paced Agile environment.
- Passionate about change and continuous improvement; willing to challenge status quo and dissent when needed, and not afraid to point out areas of development.
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Highly collaborative working style, strong interpersonal capabilities and relationship building; proven ability to manage diverse client and stakeholder relationships, and to collaborate effectively with customers and colleagues.
- Excellent ability to facilitate discussions around complex issues and bring them to resolution
