Job Description
It’s an exciting time to be at Infoblox. Named a Top 25 Cyber Security Company by The Software Report and one of
Inc. magazine’s Best Workplaces for 2020, Infoblox is the leader in cloud-first networking and security services. Our solutions empower organizations to take full advantage of the cloud to deliver network experiences that are inherently simple, scalable, and reliable for everyone. Infoblox customers are among the largest enterprises in the world and include 70% of the Fortune 500 and 93 of the Fortune 100, and our success depends on bright, energetic, talented people who share a passion for building the next generation of networking technologies—and having fun along the way. We are looking for a Customer Insights Manager to join our Worldwide Field Operations (WWFO) team, reporting to the senior director of the Value Program. In this remote role, you will collect, curate, and analyze direct and indirect evidence of business value realized by Infoblox customers through third-party research, surveys, telemetry (self-reported) data from our products, narrative success stories reported directly by customers or indirectly via Infoblox partners, and other unique/innovative ways of collecting such evidence. You will also feed our pre- and post-sales efforts to predict/project potential customer value by providing hard evidence of value realization, along with descriptive detail that illustrates the journey from the current state and all attendant challenges, to a measurably improved future state. You are the ideal candidate if you are an innovative, creative, and passionate thought leader who drives results.
What you’ll do: - Collaborate with peers on our Pre-Sales Business Value Assessment team to understand the types of value evidence we use in our value prediction/projection approach
- Define the framework for post-sale value measurement and expand/augment that framework as new or unique value drivers are uncovered through Customer Insights
- Partner with other teams within Infoblox, such as Marketing or Product, to understand, influence, and augment the conceptual value framework that our products and solutions are intended to deliver
- Gather information, primarily through interviews, regarding value realization from select Infoblox customers and partners, with the intent of getting the “story behind the story” concerning customer success stories, case studies, quotes, etc.
- Work with external, third-party research/analyst firms to scope and execute studies that collect validated business value outcomes from customers on Infoblox’s behalf
- Analyze various types of data to better understand the best sources of data, the most impactful use cases, the reasons why we win or do not win deals, etc., to drive strategy and decision-making across the organization
What you’ll bring: - 5+ years of progressive roles in marketing or sales
- Basic understanding of marketing, pre-sales, sales, and post-sale/renewals motions, including content, tools, and training
- Expertise in sales process and methodology
- Ability to gather, analyze, and draw conclusions from large data sets consisting of both quantitative and narrative/anecdotal information
- Ability to influence key stakeholders, including executive leadership
- Outstanding relationship-building skills and the ability to build rapport with cross-functional departments
- Sales tool experience, including ROI tools, DecisionLink is a bonus, and account/opportunity/forecasting experience, such as SFDC and Clari
What success looks like: After the first six months, you will...
- Meet the team, learn about the business, and assess the various sources of evidence of customer value realization
- Become knowledgeable in our pre-sales BVA approach, tools, processes, and documentation
- Jump in with both feet, taking actions where appropriate and offering insights and questions from previous roles
After about a year, you will...
- Be proficient in our current Value Programs, tools, processes, and documentation
- Establish yourself as the go-to leader for Customer Insights for the Worldwide Sales organization
- Develop a detailed plan for continuous collection, cataloging, and dissemination of customer insights, including the process, scaling mechanisms, and measurements of success
- Begin executing that plan, with both regular and ad-hoc touchpoints with Sales leadership to share insights that could shape our sales strategy, motions, and plays
