WORK SCHEDULE - FULL-TIME; DAY SHIFT; W-F 0830-1900 & Sat 0730-1800

All of UW Medicine’s radiologists are board-certified and specialize in a variety of areas such as neuroradiology, body radiology, interventional radiology, musculoskeletal radiology, ultrasound, nuclear medicine, mammography and chest radiology. Imaging findings are integrated with all clinical data to generate comprehensive and actionable patient assessments.
PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES - Prepares patients for examinations, explains the procedure and answers patient's questions.
- Screens patients for any contraindication to MRI exam.
- Reviews patient medical history on exam request, consults physician as necessary to ensure proper exam for each patient.
- Prescribes proper scanning parameters for the most common MRI exams with the assistance of documented or computer prescribed protocols.
- Determines optimal imaging options for most common MRI exams to minimize artifacts and decrease scan time.
- Post process if needed. Calculate and administer appropriate contrast for exam.
- Administers contrast under supervision of Radiologist.
- Assures that patients are properly scheduled in Epic, and exams are completed with proper billing.
- Assures that exam is filmed, archived and sent to Visage properly.
- Monitors equipment to ensure a diagnostic exam.
- Troubleshoots and repairs basic system malfunctions.
REQUIRED POSITION QUALIFICATIONS - Certified by the State of Washington as a Radiologic Technologist
- Satisfactory completion of formal technology training in an AMA approved school, registration by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) OR equivalent education/experience
