Job Description:

Akamai Technologies, Inc. is hiring for the following role in Cambridge, MA (multiple openings): Software Development Engineer in Test. Senior Lead . Performing automated and manual functional, white-box, system integration, negative, boundary, load/scale, performance, resiliency and End to End Product testing for Akamai’s Products; Contributing to system test methodologies, test plans and highly effective test automation; Developing automation libraries and tools and contributing to automation infrastructure related activities; Creating, deploying, and maintaining automated system tests to replicate real-world scenarios; Reviewing functional requirements and design documents, RFC specifications, standards, bug descriptions etc. and incorporating this information into test plans and test cases; Creating test infrastructure for testing akamai products and debug technical issues related to HTTP, SSL/TLS, DNS, QUIC and Web/Information Security, access management and Firewall rules; Using proprietary tools to monitor server/region resources, network bandwidth, investigating alerts for any abnormality and troubleshooting to provide customers seamless and secure content delivery; and Capturing network packets and analyzing them using Wireshark to troubleshoot issues related to certificates, slow delivery and TCP/TLS handshakes. Required Qualification:

Master’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Networking, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Computer Information Systems/Sciences, Telecommunications Systems Management, or Telecommunication Networks, plus three (3) years of experience in the job offered or closely related engineering role.

Alternatively, will accept a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Networking, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Computer Information Systems/Sciences, Telecommunications Systems Management, or Telecommunication Networks, plus five (5) years of experience in the job offered or closely related engineering role.

Must have: Two (2) years of experience with the following: Routing and Switching; Object Oriented Programming; C++; Python; Linux; Wireless Networking Protocols; TCP/IP; and Raspberry Pi.

Compensation:

Akamai is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The base salary for this position ranges from $130021 - $154615; a candidate’s salary is determined by various factors including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications and location. The compensation package may also include incentive compensation opportunities in the form of annual bonus or incentives, equity awards and an Employee Stock Purchase Plan (ESPP).
