This assignment posting is for an Agency Worker opportunity with Dotdash Meredith. The Agency Worker is paid by a staffing agency employer. Agency Workers will receive a W2 from the staffing agency reporting their earnings for tax purposes. Dotdash Meredith is looking for a remote editor to update time-sensitive evergreen content on InStyle. In this role, you will scan for news and update our evergreen content as needed in the CMS. This person must be an impeccable editor and a digitally-savvy pop culture and celebrity expert, with knowledge of SEO best practices. We’re looking for a candidate who can quickly adopt InStyle’s editorial and style guide and is comfortable writing about a range of topics, from celebrity and royals to fashion and beauty.As a digital publisher that reaches millions per month, Dotdash Meredith has the power and responsibility to create positive change. We are looking for candidates who can commit to 20 hours per week. Applicants must live in the United States or Canada. Assignment Responsibilities:
  • Stay abreast of the celebrity, fashion, and beauty space by conducting research and news scans
  • Perform revisions, updates, and rewrites to evergreen content including relationship timelines and explainers
  • Follow specific project instructions and brand guidelines
Skills/Experience:
  • At least 2 years experience writing or editing entertainment, pop culture, or celebrity-focused content, preferably for a news publication or magazine
  • Comfortable with internet research and creating/tracking Google alerts
  • Strong writing and editing skills, with an ability to adopt an established brand voice and adhere to style guidelines
  • Able to confidently research and write/edit content covering celebrities, pop culture, and related topics
  • Comfortable with content management systems
  • Detail-oriented and able to work efficiently, independently, and accurately
  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Comfortable with working remotely
  • Access to a smartphone, computer (not a tablet), and a secure internet connection
