Job Description

As part of the Data Defense Office in CDAO (Chief Data & Analytics Office), the Supplier Data Management Project Manager is responsible for oversight of the delivery of capabilities aimed at improving how we manage and use sensitive data both internally and with Third Parties. You will partner with Technical and Domain specific experts in CDAO, ES&F, CTO, GTO ESM and other areas to stand up processes and frameworks aimed at reducing risk and improving our overall data defense posture. As a Technical Project manager you will define, refine and ensure execution of plans both internally within the team and with key stakeholders.

The creation of the Data Defense Office will allow Vanguard to:
• Find and understand our data better
• Effectively manage how we use sensitive data both with suppliers and inside Vanguard
• Drive improved data anonymization and classification to reduce risk
• Be prepared for data & privacy regulations
• Enable quicker time to insights, with the right level of controls and access in place
• We will focus on enabling an automated, sustainable process throughout the entire data management lifecycle.

As a Project Manager supporting the Supplier Data Management stream you will play a key role in driving the delivery of transformational change by aligning resources, managing risks and- coordinating activities across a diverse set of stakeholders that will simplify a complex technical landscape. In the rapidly growing Data Defense Office you will have the opportunity to shape processes, best practices and influence overall team culture for this enduring function.

Requirements

1. Manages technology projects or multiple technical workstreams within a broader project or program. Develops, implements, and monitors project plans. Contributes expertise to major project deliverables, milestones, and required tasks.

2. Provides insight on best practices and common obstacles based on prior experiences. Serves as a trusted advisor to ensure strategies are aligned with the overall company strategy and market conditions.

3. Communicates project status and issues regularly to stakeholders, including leaders, team members, and senior managers.

4. Builds and maintains effective relationships. Proactively fosters communication between internal and external project stakeholders. Influences key decisions across stakeholder groups.

5. Proactively identifies, manages, and mitigates risks and any related issues on technology projects. Communicates solutions on key issues or projects to management and stakeholders to obtain their input and buy-in as appropriate.

6. Participates in special projects and performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of five years related work experience. Two years of managing a project preferred. Financial Services and technical experience preferred.
  • Undergraduate degree in related field (Computer Science, Engineering) required. Graduate degree preferred.
