Summary: Over the past decade, Age of Learning products have been proven to improve learning outcomes and are loved by millions of families and kids. As a well-funded and profitable private company with a seasoned leadership team, Age of Learning invests in developing innovative education solutions to further its mission of helping kids everywhere achieve academic success. To date, Age of Learning's primary business model has been providing subscription products to parents at home. However, over the past five years, the company has made significant investments in patented personalized mastery learning products that we believe can drive substantial learning outcomes in schools. Age of Learning is seeking to hire a Business Development Representative who will be reporting to our Director of Regional Sales. In this role, you will work collaboratively with Area Sales Managers on building out our world-class schools' business. This individual will assist in executing go-to-market strategies aligned with our growth goals and will be directly engaged in field sales efforts. The Business Development Representative will be responsible for top-of-funnel prospecting, initial outreach, and assessing opportunities. Rather than trying to close deals, the Business Development Representative’s work will revolve around generating and qualifying new leads for their Area Sales Manager teammates.
Responsibilities:
- Generate leads and build relationships by nurturing cold and warm prospects
- Manage and maintain a pipeline of interested customers
- Proactively seek out new schools/districts in the market
- Identify schools’ needs and suggest appropriate products
- Foster meaningful and strategic relationships with Area Sales Managers to achieve coordinated prospecting efforts
- Work closely with the marketing and sales teams to initiate the sales cycle with new prospects
- Collaborates with management and marketing on outreach projects
- Develop a high level of understanding of Age of Learning products and how we fit into the marketplace
- Maintain a high level of outbound activity including a minimum of 75 calls/day with a high connection rate.
- Set up initial meetings and calls between prospective schools/districts and Area Sales Managers
- Secure customer RSVPs for marketing and/or sales led events.
- Utilize HubSpot, Salesforce, and Zoom Phone for cold calling and email to generate new sales opportunities
- Reports to the Director of Regional Sales with weekly, monthly, and quarterly results
- Up to 25% domestic travel to education conferences and customer events
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree and/or 3 years of relevant work experience
- 2-3 years of business development and/or sales experience, with a history of exceeding goals
- Experience utilizing communication tools such as VoIP (i.e., Zoom Phone), Outlook and Slack
- Experience working with Salesforce, HubSpot or other CRM Software
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior experience working in the EdTech, Software Sales and/or K-12 space
- Have a thorough understanding of the educational marketspace
- Located in the Los Angeles area
The estimated salary for a new hire into this position is $65,000, and includes potential BDR incentive payments (when applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location.
