And while most organizations aspire to achieve greater relevance through personalization, The Vanguard Financial Advisor Services team is taking concrete steps including activating a technology roadmap, hiring talent, and forming adoption / utilization strategies to advance our marketing capabilities all while driving business outcomes

The Marketing Technology Strategist plays a critical role in ensuring technologies, processes and practices come together to grow FAS Marketing’s digital personalization and experimentation capabilities. The Marketing Technology Strategist partners with engineering teams and marketers to bring forward a vision for leveraging technology within the Financial Advisory Services division.

We are currently seeking a team member to help mature Marketing’s use of these capabilities particularly in the areas of personalization, experimentation, and content management. This person will ultimately drive adoption and utilization of these technologies leveraging strong collaboration and communication skills while working closely with partners.

The successful Marketing Technology Consultant plays the following role in driving the strategic technology agenda forward:

  • Identifies a clear set of use cases, implementation priorities and enablement strategies to ensure the successful implementation, adoption, and optimization of our marketing technology stack (Adobe Experience Cloud products including Adobe Analytics, Adobe Launch, Adobe Experience Manager (AEM & DAM), Target, CDP, Workfront and Marketo).
  • Partners with colleagues in marketing, information technology and external agencies to translate the Enterprise technology roadmap into an executable vision for the Financial Advisor Services business.
  • Builds and executes a technology enablement strategy, leveraging strong project / program management skills to bring activities into focus. The strategy includes the people, process, and culture changes that need to occur to optimally use the technology.
  • Works with business partners to identify key use cases to inform an incremental rollout plan.
  • Ensures there are clear outcomes associated with investments and that progress against outcomes are being met.
  • Continuously looks for opportunities to optimize sales and marketing outcomes leveraging the marketing technology stack. Addresses the people, process and technology gaps that limit taking advantage of existing aspects of the marketing tech stack.
  • Partners with IT development teams on requirements; defines an implementation strategy and executes on that strategy ensuring deliveries are in-line with the key use cases.
  • Partners with Marketing teams to support the development of users’ skills. Understands user needs and creates plans to fill needs and advance organizational maturity.

What it takes:

  • The ideal candidate will possess hands on experience of key technologies in the Adobe suite, with knowledge of Adobe Target and AEM strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated digital and marketing acumen and a strong ability to learn new marketing technologies.
  • Five years related work experience. Three years of experience in business technology preferred.
  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent combination of training and experience. Graduate degree preferred.
