Diversity and inclusion matter to us.
Our vision is of a future where both people and the planet thrive. Diversity is one of our core values and we strive to build a workplace where everyone feels a sense of belonging. All new staff who join us learn about the importance of diversity and inclusion to the Museum and how to contribute to creating an inclusive environment.
We know we have more to do, but we are committed to ensuring that everyone who works at the Museum feels they can thrive and feel valued and respected.
About the role
We have an ambitious Learning Plan focused on creating advocates for the planet. For greatest impact, we deliver a dynamic programme of galleries, activities, events and resources, onsite, online and offsite, centred around pivotal life moments for young people with their schools, teachers, families, and communities, serving a wider cross-section of young people.
The Creative Producer – Community and Youth will work with hyper local audiences who experience structural exclusion as well as a broader audience of young people aged 15-25. The role’s focus is the development and delivery of a programme of activities and events, building relationships and advocating for audiences internally within Museum priority projects.
About you
Using your strong experience in working directly with community and youth audiences, you will be part of a small team developing and delivering and annual programme of meaningful, relevant and enjoyable activities that speak to the needs of young people and our local community, as well as the Museum’s mission to create advocates for the planet.
Committed to inclusive practices, you will be skilled in relationship building and partnership working with the ability to advocate for the audiences you work with. You will be proactive in seeking opportunities to build or expand community and youth voices into existing projects or programmes.
Using your experience working concurrently on a range of activities and events, you will deliver activities which follow the museum’s processes, including safeguarding, due diligence, health and safety, and evaluation.
You will be a team player with a positive, problem-solving attitude and the ability to navigate working in a complex multi-faceted organisation, working with and supporting colleagues across teams.
