This role is for an Associate, Regulatory Affairs on the US Government Affairs & Public Policy team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support efforts to monitor and advocate on relevant U.S. public policy issues, with a particular focus on the regulation of market structure issues and digital assets by federal regulators like the SEC, CFTC, U.S. Treasury, Federal Reserve, FDIC, OCC, FINRA, MSRB and others.
• Support production of comment letters and public policy position papers, including drafting and editing content, tracking deadlines, and ensuring proper submission.
• Develop and maintain relationships with key policymakers, industry peers, trade associations, and other stakeholders.
• Assist in preparation of materials for meetings with policymakers, clients, and trade organizations.
• Assist in preparation of speaking remarks and PowerPoint slides for senior members of the team.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree with strong record of academic achievement; JD/Juris Doctor Preferred.
• Major in public policy, political science, finance and/or relevant public policy/financial services internship experience are a plus.
• 3-5+ years of experience in asset management/financial service preferred.
• Strong PowerPoint skills and proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Strong writing and research skills; strategic and creative thinking aptitude.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple ongoing deliverables and tight deadlines.
• Ability to clearly articulate ideas to internal and external audiences across all levels of senior management is imperative.
• Interest in financial services regulation.
• Familiarity with U.S. federal regulation of financial services industry.
• Background and interest in digital assets, crypto currencies, artificial intelligence and/or FinTech preferred.
• Background and interest in derivatives, rates markets, equity and fixed income trading markets preferred.
• Good judgment and impeccable ethics; desire to succeed in a demanding, innovative, entrepreneurial environment.
• Exceptional organizational skills and keen attention to detail.

For New York City only: The salary range for this position is $105,000 - $137,500. Additionally, employees are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, and benefits including heath care, leave benefits, and retirement benefits. BlackRock operates a pay-for-performance compensation philosophy and your total compensation may vary based on role, location, and firm, department and individual performance.
