ADP is hiring a Payroll Policy Developer

In this role, you will b uild Payroll calculation business rules/policies based on the statutory requirements, using ADP’s in-house IDE. You will analyze requirements to understand new/enhanced payroll/tax processing logic. You will participate in story mapping sessions with stakeholders and cross-functional teams. You will facilitate Specification by Example (SBE) sessions to gain a clear understanding of assigned features. You will develop policies for Payroll calculations to satisfy statutory requirements. You will write and maintain test scenarios and test cases for complex payroll/tax features. You work with development partners to define system-to-system interactions. You will analyze API response payloads in JSON. You will transform test cases into the automation framework in spreadsheet format. You will validatestest results against product requirements. You will utilize JIRA, Confluence (document repository), Google Policy Analyst Job Description suite (Google docs, Google sheets, etc), Sequel Pro, MySQL Workbench, POSTMAN, IntelliJ and other tools for analysis and development. You will participate in sprint planning, standups, story definition, story estimation and other agile / scrum development activities.

You will start your day on a scrum call to prioritize and track work. Within the team you work on, you will choose user stories to work within a sprint cycle. You will spend most of your day developing and testing your code. Every three weeks, you will be involved in the release activities.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

Here's what you can expect on a typical day:

  • You'll start each day with a scrum, working in a team to understand responsibilities, identify issues, and communicate coding priorities while choosing user stories to complete. You will also participate in other agile ceremonies, including scheduled sprint demos, where you will present your work to up to 90 stakeholders.
  • Working in three-week sprints, you must keep up with timelines and coding standards. Most of your daily schedule will be software development, but you will also test your code before submitting it to QA for final testing. You won't just focus on development in this role. You will also be responsible for testing and deployment.
  • Continuous Learning. You will actively collaborate with other developers to share ideas or show what you've learned. You are eager to learn, keep up with ever-changing technologies, and maintain the ability to create the best tools for our clients.
  • Support & Problem-Solving. You may work on products currently in use. If so, you might act as a point of contact for one day/week, supporting your clients for any urgent issues that require resolution. You'll start those days with your regular work activity but will have to switch gears to a support role as needed throughout your assigned support day.
  • You have 2-5 years of experience in relevant skills gained and developed in the same or similar role.

TO SUCCEED IN THIS ROLE:

  • You'll have a Bachelor's degree OR equivalent.
  • Solid Understanding of HCM/payroll concepts and processes.
  • Experience with HCM/Payroll systems such as SAP Payroll, ADP GlobalView, Oracle and ADP Autopay.
  • Experience in configuring rules-based systems.

Nice to Have:

  • Working knowledge of relational databases and SQL.
  • Experience with XML/JSON.
  • Agile project development experience.
  • CPP/FCP payroll certification.
