GRAIL is seeking a Staff Software Product Manager, Data Platform, who will be responsible for driving development of key components of our central data repository and platform, including infrastructure and data products for our Commercial, Operations, and Research teams. The Data Platform is enabling GRAIL to build on its current and future cancer detection portfolio by ensuring that operational and clinical data is accessible and analyzable by teams across the company, while maintaining compliance with regulatory, clinical study, and privacy standards. This role is located in Menlo Park, California and is a hybrid role with 2 days a week onsite.

RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Develop a deep understanding of our current data assets and platform architecture.
    • Lead development of the roadmap to evolve our architecture in order to further enable other teams with GRAIL’s data, including Research, Commercial, and Lab Operations.
    • Define standardized data ingestion pipelines to support data spanning biobanking, clinical studies, and commercial operations.
    • Define and implement seamless, effective, and compliant access to data for stakeholders in close partnership with engineering, privacy, and security
    • Establish and implement standard processes for documenting data products and pipelines for end users.
    • Collaboratively define data models to support multiple commercial products, and ensure data standards are established and maintained across commercial activities and clinical studies.
    • Enable external data sharing with collaborators spanning our commercial business (e.g., employers/enterprise) and life sciences.
    • Define roadmap to expand data platform capabilities beyond the US, into the UK and beyond as our commercial footprint grows.
    • Partner with a wide range of stakeholders to ensure seamless, effective, and compliant access to GRAIL’s data assets.
    • Streamline the Software Quality and Testing release process for your product area.

REQUIRED SKILLS

    • Ideal candidate will have 7+ years of experience in software program or product management, including experience with data product and/or platform teams, preferably at a health tech / life sciences company.
    • BA/BS, Graduate degree, or equivalent work experience in life or physical sciences, engineering, or computer science.
    • Excellent strategic, analytical, communication, and presentation abilities.
    • Demonstrated experience working with stakeholders from clinical, commercial, and research-oriented teams.
    • Strongly prefer a working knowledge and experience with the modern data tech stack (e.g., Redshift, dbt, Airflow, etc) and SQL.
    • Familiarity with software development in a regulated environment.
    • Willingness to wear multiple hats, be hands-on, and solve technical problems to move complex initiatives forward.
    • Ability to prioritize, set goals, and deliver results with a high emphasis on quality, technical planning, and attention to detail.
    • Comfort with ambiguity and ability to resolve. Ability to lead without authority. Ability to negotiate scope, product features, and specifications.
    • Strongly prefer experience with data governance and privacy
This role is located in Menlo Park, Ca. with a hybrid work environment. The estimated, full-time, annual base pay scale for this position is $155,000 - $180,000. Actual base pay will consider skills, experience, and location. Based on the role, colleagues may be eligible to participate in an annual bonus plan tied to company and individual performance, or an incentive plan. We also offer a long-term incentive plan to align company and colleague success over time.
