About the Team Fanatics Collectibles is a new company working at the intersection of collectibles and technology. We are PWCC. We're based in Tigard, Oregon and are the largest trading card marketplace in the world. PWCC is brokering nearly a half-billion in trading card sales annually (and you thought those baseball cards in your mom's basement were worthless!), with the goal of expanding and becoming the name for collectibles storage, research, and liquidity. We are growing rapidly and need the right person to expand our team and help us provide the care our client base needs. Position Overview: PWCC’s continued growth has brought us a unique opportunity to join our team as an Accounting Manager. Reporting to the Director of Controlling, the Accounting Manager is responsible for maintaining the accuracy of the General Ledger and associated subledgers, producing timely financial statements, as well as driving process improvement and system optimization across all aspects of Accounting. This is an onsite position in Tigard, OR with the option of transitioning to hybrid after an introductory period.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for the accuracy and integrity of the General Ledger and Financial Statements
- Oversight and management of a month-end accounting close process
- Ensure compliance with corporate accounting policies in line with US GAAP and evaluate complex transactions to determine accounting treatment
- Administration of Internal Controls over Financial Reporting, in compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley
- Lead the development and implementation of standard operating procedures and internal control documentation
- Support external audit and tax preparation
- Drive continuous process improvement of accounting processes, collaborating with business stakeholders to reduce execution time and improve accuracy of accounting processes
- Build and maintain positive relationship with functional leaders to ensure an understanding of strategic priorities and impacts on the new or existing transaction streams
- Prepare ad hoc financial reporting requests, other analyses and special projects, as needed
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or related field required
- 7-10 years of work experience in public accounting, corporate accounting or related function required
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or equivalent strongly preferred
- Public Accounting experience strongly preferred
- Experience with Sage Intacct, Oracle Fusion, or similar ERP system preferred
- Solid knowledge of US GAAP, internal controls (SOX) and technical accounting
- Proven ability to communicate complex and ambiguous topics and concepts to a wide and diverse audience, including meeting facilitation and presentations
- Ability to identify, communicate, and resolve accounting issues, risks, and opportunities
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to optimally identify, communicate, and influence technical matters, issues, risks, and opportunities to senior leadership
- Excellent organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail
- Proven capacity of managing a team and capacity of working inside a team
