To learn more about Age of Learning, visit www.AgeofLearning.com . We are seeking a highly motivated Digital Product Designer to join our Mastery & Adaptive team. The ideal candidate would be a team player who helps to improve collaboration with creativity, solid design skills, thoughtful user experience flows, and a deep understanding of gamification mechanisms. This position will support our interactive learning products by designing highly engaging product experiences that pair with our broader educational ecosystem. As a Designer, you will collaborate closely with design leads and product leadership including producers, product owners, and other art, animation, and tech-artists. You will also work closely with curriculum, research, data analytics, engineering, and most importantly production teams to ensure adherence to best user experience practices to help guide the product’s vision. This position requires an attention to detail and the ability to balance engagement and learning based on research findings and live data with the goal of creating lasting learning outcomes for school-age children and the adults who support them.

Responsibilities

• Be the advocate for meaningful interaction/designs for users.
• Own the implementation of fun, engaging, educational experiences for students, caregivers, teachers & parents utilizing adaptive systems and iterative techniques.
• Drive product experience through design thinking phases and product implementation processes.
• Be able to take detailed information from many sources and produce understandable concepts that inform design decisions.
• Create user flows and wireframes to thoughtfully explain features to the implementation team and stakeholders.
• Create design concepts for features that align with a style guide and are cohesive with an existing experience.
• Create animated prototypes of interactions, gameplay loops, and user experience.
• Guide the team through stages of the product experience from ideation to implementation.
• Work closely with other team disciplines to deliver content that meets the requirements established by team leaders and executives and elicits engagement, surprise, and delight.
• Assess and apply both qualitative and quantitative feedback to improve user experience through iteration and agile development.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bilingual English/Business Spanish (verbal/written) in a business setting
• 5+ years of digital software product experience in Art, Information Architecture, Visual Design, Interaction Design, Game Design, and Usability Engineering.
• Experience creating comprehensive product designs that entertain, educate, and activate users to become effective learners.
• History of strong collaborative skills with the ability to receive and give constructive feedback as well as strong interpersonal communication skills to work independently.
• Experience extending and working within a design system.
• Ability to prototype and document detailed specs to aid in development.
• Ability to design in various aspect ratios for both mobile and web design.
• Experience using both qualitative and quantitative research findings and live data to drive functional product design evaluation and iteration for evidence-based design to validate design solutions.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working in a scrum/kanban/agile environment.
• Knowledge of children's media, especially in children’s educational apps and learning games.
• Capability of iterating divergently in low fidelity and refining solutions at high fidelity.
